Beautifully done Gustav, Rowan! Did you paint the spinner spiral or is it a decal? 2 years ago I've build Eduard's first G-6 release and I can only confirm what you said about the fitting. In fact the little scale difference doesn't matter to me. Looking forward to see the rest of the bunch .... Torsten

Hi again Thank you all for your kind and generous comments. I really appreciate them. I know a completed kit with my name against it is a rare bird these days ( ), but I'm genuinely knocked out by the response. I really must finish builds more often! A couple of you have mentioned the spinner spiral. It's the kit decal, applied without any setting solution. I actually did use Mr Softener on the first few decals that I applied, but soon realised that it was superfluous - the Gustav's decals snuggled down beautifully without any help (witness the rivets on the spiral). To be honest, I was rather leary of the spinner spiral after my experience with the one in Eduard's Fw 190D . I just could not make that work and ended up scrapping and replacing it. But this one followed the contours perfectly and was a cinch to apply. The only way it could have been improved for me would have been if it had been designed as the red spiral - as it is, the white is faintly translucent. That wouldn't really be an issue if there wasn't a white section of paintwork on the spinner's base-plate to highlight the difference. That's one of the points I'd like to tweak someday in order to get a better match. Thanks again and all the best Rowan

Hi Rowan ..that's wonderful! I must admit I felt a bit 'cheated' with the 'original' Eduard Gustav -especially having acquired four - but having built one I can readily agree that they're pretty decent, in fact the surface detail is stunning, so the 'new' new tool must be superb. Certainly looks it in your hands..

Many thanks Neil Yes, Eduard's original version still builds into a fine looking beastie, despite the furore that followed its release. I've still got one in its box and another 80% finished and, to be honest, I think they'll look very nice - although rivet counters would probably tear holes in them. All the best Rowan
