Dear Gregax,
After picking my teeth from the dust (or tarmac, that is ) I must say that this is the greatest Mustang I have ever seen (but then, again, I haven't seen too many )
I have recently quit smoking - in Romania a pack being like 1 EUR, I guess I can also save some money - so i will buy myself som ALCLADS to use...in my next D build...
Happy modelling , and please share your work !!!

Hi Grega
nice and clean ... I really like it .. though i won't go that far to say it is the best I have ever seen .. better than my models for sure but not THE best
Grega, just a hint regarding future .. it is great stuff and will help you to hide the decals, but you will loose some degrees of the NMF effect ... thats what I have heard/read .. I yet have to try it.
best wishes
Steffen

I did a test on some scrap piece, but it doesn't look like a lot of difference. Still, ww2 mustangs weren't as polished as those seen on the airshows these days.
Some dirt ans grime will go on it so i don't really care that much about some minor loss of shine.

Hello Grega
great, I agree that the aircraft were not very shiny, but there is a distinct metallic sheen which might be corrupted by layers of clear coat on metallic surfaces. But as you have tested it you should be fine. Thank you for the explanation!
best wishes

Painted and futured.... It is necessary to be extra carefull when masking the white portion of the nose, otherwise decals won't fit...

Decals are done... Aeromaster decals are way better than tamiya's one.
There were no problems, accept the red band around the nose.

Wow! This is truly an amazing build! The level of detail as well as the perfect overall finish is greatly inspiring!
Cheers!

I agree, and it seems there have been no updates for a while.

It really looks great. I will be doing a NMF Mustang real soon. Actually one in 1/48 followed by a few in 1/32. I really like the way yours is finishing out. Look forward to more pics soon.

I have to opologize for not being able to continue the work on this mustang for a while. Sadly, the friend who was supposed to get this model as a gift, passed away while on vacation, so i put it away for a while. But i've decided to finish it afterwards and give it to his parents.
Here it's how it looks now, i did some chips on the markings, weathered it a bit and put some postshading with black-brown mix.

gregax,
Again, saying what has already been said, great job! I really like what you did for the oil leaks, they truly look wind blown.
Also, sorry to hear about your friend, I pray that you are doing O.K. and am glad that you finished the Mustang.

Gregax,
I'm sorry to hear about your friend; that is really sad. Your mustang, though, is really nice. I love the weathering.

Hi Gregax
Sorry for the loss of your friend. The Mustang must be a painful project now... but it's good you are finishing it.
