While Il-2 was drying I've started with this birthday present for a friend of mine. I am building one mostly because i'd like to try Alclad paints, so here we go.
Kit is Tamiya's 1/48 mustang
Of course, I couldn' resist aftermarket parts, so I will use:
-Eduard PE set
-Eduard Placards
-Quickboost exhausts
- ... and Aeromaster decals (mustang Best sellers pt.1 - 48539)
here we go...
Painted (i know the color is wrong....)
... more to follow soon.... Comments welcome.

Eh, you know Steffen, an hour or so a day is enough. (And i am not counting some late night modelling from time to time)

Well, but what do you do when it is so hot?
I did not build for almost 2 weeks because it was just to warm here (already 25°C at 10 in the morning and increasing over the day .. every day) .... o.k. for me that is too warm.
We had some rainlast night which makes it bearable today ... hmmm, should do a little modelling session later ...
best wishes
Steffen

gregax,
Wonderful work. I have yet to figure out how to get the PE onto the parts as cleanly as you have. This will be a fun build to watch.

Steffen, we have downpours every day, so it's hot and humid as hell. Luckilly, I have a part of my workshop in the basement, so i have an excuse that upstairs in the attic is too hot for me and that i have to go to cool myself in the basement.
I normally do not do that much modelling during the summer, as i spend every free moment riding the woods on my bike. But these days it's just too damn hot. And because of daily showers it's a suicide to go into the woods. It's like riding your bike in the sauna.

Very nice Gregax. Very clean details. The wheel wells are my favorite. Looking forward to seeing it finished, Wingman out.

Beautiful work, my man! Love the wheel wells, too!
And how DO you get that PE to look so good on there?

The last shot before i close the fuselage... I know the interior color is wrong (it should be bronze green) and that the floor should be painted in anti skid black, but it looks fine to me. At the end, it's a gift and not competition model...

Outstanding, Grega!!
now get the air bush out and do not worry that you shoot some dollars in just a few seconds .... or is Alclad II cheap on your end of the world?
cheers
Steffen

Alclad is not cheap here in Slovenia.... actually... it's nonexsistant....
But I've ordered some from uk and paind reasonable 6.5 € per bottle...
*nobody said that modelling is cheap... but it's still cheaper than going to the pub every day...*

Hi Gregax!
That's what I always say to my wife when a parcel full of model kits arrives at home. But she never seems to be convinced!
You should say "...it's still healthier than going to the pub every day..." but somehow it's not convincing neither...

Hi Greaga and Jean-Luc
I doubt that you can drink beer (for the same money) as fast as you can spray out Alclad II ... If you try .. make a photo afterwards
BTW 6,50 is a great price!
cheers

Beer for 6 Euro 50 cent?!!!! must be something about 10 half liter bottles ... depending on where you buy ... I do not believe that!
well then: Sa sdarovje? (or however you wish you health in Slovenia)

Great cockpit and wheel bays, Gregax! It will be a joy to follow one of your builds once again
And a little of topic. In Latvia we say "Preeka" and in Denmark we say "Skaal". Both simply translates into "Cheers".

Here we go, first alclad coat ever! It's really not so hard to work with, i sprayed the fuselage with duraluminium shade, wings are white aluminium, some panels are duraluminum shaded with MM metalizers. Fun work, but lots of masking. I will now spray antiglare panels and tail, then some more alclad will follow.
