A few photos of my latest build, finished yesterday.
Tamiyas 1:72 P-51D, in the markings of Lt Col J.C.Meyer. 487FS,352 FG.
Only AM additions were some Eduard seatbelts. Painted in Tamiya Acrylics and Alclad. Weathered with a burnt umber oil wash and sealed with stain varnish.

How do the Tamiya decals work? Any problems? My Academy P-51D was able to use some of the kit decals but the fuselage codes had to be ordered aftermarket. I just couldn't get rid of the silvering. When I bought the after market decals and applied them the silvering went away. How about that.
What is your next "proper scale" (ha ha) project? Take care, Russell.

Jeff,,I havent built the 1:48 kit but if its anything like the 1:72 Mustang you wont have any problems at all.

The Tamiya decals didnt give me any problems.
Academy decals also dont give me any problems because I dont even consider using them, AM everytime for my Academy builds.
"Proper Scale" project? I presume you mean 1:48th?
Im just starting my first ever 1:48 build. Its the Tamiya Razorback and its going to be presented to a museum when its finished.

Looks really good Nige. I have one of these in the stash (actually the f-51 with shark mouth decals) and hope to get to it in the next year or so. Any tips? Things you found while building this kit?
