yes my friend That was not what I´m expected during my drive home from work. So tonight I´ll going thru the box. What I´ve seen of it it´s looking sharp and detailed.

The moulds is very fine and almost flashfree.Roden is coming out with better and better kits. The seat usually in the kit is just that thin I like it to be, so there is no need to replace it. You got three options to choise from, with too separate uppdecks. As I mentioned before this build is to figure out any flaws in this kit, so I´ll going easy with the details. That is a real good thing, when I´m feeling a bit rusty in this field.



Sporue "C" and "D" comes as doubble,so I just took one pics pof them.

The wings is very thin in the back, no bent or warp.

Time for update my friends
As the normal Roden, there is allt of dry fitting on this kits.Nothing big to report, just test every bit before gluing it to place.

There are some tiny sinkmarks on the outside of the fuselage,this is filled in, and to increase the strenght of the fuselge small bits of plastic rods was installed in the blindspots of the inside.

The putty on the outside of the fuselage, because the where alot of sinkmarks caused from the ribs on the inside. The plastic was not cold enough, so the plastic sunk in where the ribs are on the inside. I don´t wanna see them on the finished model, so I´ll filled/sanded them flat.
On pictures of the DH 4, you can see tiny lines of rivets on the outside. I havent desided yet if I´ll going to fix them or not...

I´ll going to have to hold the horses on this one, just to deliver a nice build out of box to the Swedish distributor.

Ok I can see the sinkholes in the sprue shots you posted earlier. Hmmm Can be fixed as you have done. Shame they are there though.

I have been playing with a new filler lately that eliminates the need for sanding. In discussion with others I have found that indeed,there is nothing new under the sun,so I wont say I "discovered" this new product,as someone probably is quite aware of it already.
I have been using DAP tub and tile caulking with great success lately. It is white,and water soluble before curing. All I do is apply with a microbrush,and by the time Im finished that ,its time to use a wet q-tip to remove the excess with gentle scrubbing action. I have so far used it on the side sponsons for a MK IV male tank,as well as Eduards Albatros,and I am so far satisfied. It dries matt finish too,and accepts paint well.

Congrat to the Hockeygold. I mean the juniorVM.
The tips about filler is a good one. The filler I use i almost the same as Mr surfacer 500, often uses nail polish remover to clean up after, just to minimize the sanding. On this case I´ll had to have the fuselage level, so I had to sand. The filler I use here is very easy to sand of with water and get a nice result.

The work on Dh:4 is on tomorrow again. After all these holidays I´ve have some days of, so updates are comming up.
