Both birds looks great. Glad to see you were able to repair the damage caused by the spill. Maybe you should call St20 "Phoenix"?

Hi again folks,

Ok well 2 more nights of class and were all done.

So lets begin, Hartmann kit and St20 kit have both been given their oil baths, I used Migs Abteilung 502 modeling oil color Abt 110. Black, I must say I was impressed with this oil paint. The pigment broke now very nicely and wasn’t grainy like I’ve had issue with on other brands of paint. You can find this brand of oil paint on most of the large known online hobby shops, I picked up my set at Kings Hobby Shop in Austin TX. I didn’t have any troubles applying the wash and was very pleased with the over all results as you can see for your self, I used odorless turpenoid, as my mother is an oil painter I have an endless supply... lol thanks mom..

Ok so on with the rest of what I’ve done, the scuff marks on the pilots side of the Hartmann kit … I used a brush pen from Pentel Metallic Brush is what it’s called, picked up this little item up from Hobby Lobby. It is basically a brush with liquid silver in it. Has a plunger on the end of the pen to re-wet the brush when needed.

Hartmann kit was given the oil wash before applying the flat coat from Testors.
St 20 kit had its oil wash applied after I put down a coat of flat from Testors.

Well on to the photos.

Hope ya like... I’m happy with the way they are turning out.

Chris

They both are looking great. I have to say I am partial to ST 20. I havent seen that scheme and it is really eye catching.

Thanks a bunch Taylor, I really appricate the words.

St20's sidewalls came from Rick Kent's photo artwork of a plane 1999,I found off another site... I liked it so I ran with it.. granted there are no reall ID's as to which unit it may or may not have served with.. I liked the colors an the lay out. the upper wings were taken from a personal photo of a gentleman that lives in my area and changed up slightly...

And truth be told guys & gals... I don't think I'm going to do much weathering on them.. would rather they keep a nice look to them shows off the work I think.. but that's just MHO..

well Next monday is the last class.. I'll be posting final photos next week..

Great Build, but I have one question. Shouldn't the antenna wire go through the loop antenna, and not over it????

Great question there Steve, actually I've found photos of both styles .. over it and going thru.. firugerd I'd go with the odd one instead of the normal running thru the loop

lol guess I'm odd that way.. never did like following the norm lol
