I'd be up for the job if no one else better qualified volunteers.
and I'll throw in with a South African something or other (Mustang or F-86) as well.

hello Vance,
i am wondering if we should included Japan in the campaign.it was the staging area for most of the Bombers and Transports.
MarkM wants me to submit this campaign on Model Geek, with links on all the other sites.Jim(goldenpony) is the Naval XO for the campaign and he is going to do the banner and ribbon.when he gets it done,i will ask everyone what they think.i am trying to give everyone a say in this campaign, expectingly when they build certain types of models. hopefully i will get alot of input before i submit the campaign this weekend.
if you have any thoughts or questions, please ask.
cheers,
Bruce

This sounds very good. I am thinking a Sabre with wide yellow identification bands as an aircraft entry and a easy eight Sherman as the AFV entry.
Excellent idea about the campaign. I am on!

hello Jasper,
would you like to be the Armorama XO.you will be free to allow or disallow what the modelers want to build.this will give me enought time to oversee all the sites.there is no rewards for doing it,it will just help me to get a well rounded campaign involving all the sites.
cheers,
Bruce

Hi Bruce
What are the planned start and end dates on this one? We'll maintain a prominent inter-site link on Aeroscale - and it also might dovetail nicely with the Trumpeter/Hobbycraft Hawker Sea Fury in 1/48 scale... Sorry, I know it's a bit of a cliché, but who can resist a MiG-downing Sea Fury! But there are also sooooo many other wonderful aircraft tie-ins from the prop/jet cross-over era....
All the best
Rowan

hello Vance,
i am wondering if we should included Japan in the campaign.it was the staging area for most of the Bombers and Transports.
Including Japan to what extent?
For example, Japanese units did not participate directly (I have no idea if they played support roles though), but US aircraft did take off from Japan to accomplish missions over Korea. The latter should certainly be included, but the former shouldn't be.
I think a Japanese navy tender that might have serviced a US combat ship is one degree too far removed.
Now what about US units that did not actually fight in Korea but supported units that did... good question. But really ANG units that never left the states did the same thing by covering US mainland security interests while the AF units were in Korea. Do you want to include state-side units?
Similarly, state-side military medical people were just as involved dealing with the wounded as those in Tokyo.
Then what about the elements Russia and China that supported the North Koreans?
Personally, I'd be inclined to limit it to units that actually saw action on the peninsula or the waters immediately surrounding it. Otherwise, pretty much anything from the early 1950s becomes fair game.

I got a big clunky F-86 kit taking up a lot of space in the closet. I also have an M-26 that I can do. Great idea. I am in.

Hi Bruce
If it's planned to run right through into next year I'll try to join in with something. I'm notoriously bad at signing up for campaigns and then not having time to take part, but a year should be long enough even for me!
All the best
