Hi
All preshading is done, and all tape is off the fuselage. I used Humbrol black #33 and leather #62 for the preshades. Next step will be the camo to go on.
Here´s the pics

Larsa,
I've seen how this worked on your DH4. It was very effective.
I hope that your subsequent coats of paint don't oblitorate this good work.

Hi
Having started the paintjob on this, the final details are added.A last check on the Vickers to. I will use asingle wickers on this one and just save the other one for another project.
The covers are painted silver/black. After the cammo is on I going to chips away some paint from them.
The last pics shows that wicker I can´t use, do it´s a Parts etch for another earlybird.I save this one for another project

Looking Good Larsa,
What a chore to mix all those colours... I guess though that you take that on when you build this subject.

Looks just perfect! I like that subtle camo scheme and toned ribs most of all.

Lars , I'm very impressed with your painting of this build . The ribbing just seems to pop out
I'm really looking forward to seeing this one done . Have you chosen which markings will go on .

Hi T
Thanks, yes that´s a nice artistic effect, and easy even it´s take some time to mask up.
I will do Rickenbackers machine with the white cowling and landingstruts. That´s the fastest cowling to paint
Why the hurry, you see the year start to run out for me already, so many models, so little time

Hi Mark
good luck, it´s not hightech this, don´t forget to have the paint thin, so it won´t ruin all the nice underwork.I think I forgot to say that I´m mixing the colours with clear varnish before paint. You will have 50% mixed paint and 50 % varnish, then the thinner medium to get it thrue your airbrush. The varnish is just to get the paint semitranparent, a better way gt get the " see thru effect".
Hope to see pics off your test

Hi folks
I´m still running the airbrush hot.
The last colour is the red in the tail to get on tomorrow. The prop is done with woodgrains and white. The cowling is brushed in five different tones off white. First I started with plain white from the Humbrol tin, and then I mixed in little grey and brown to get the white just a little off, next a little more grey/brown and finally a drop off black to get the darkest white. The effect I was trying to get is the glare in the “bend” and just little darker against the fuselage. I don´t know if you like it (I guess I was a graffiti painter in the life before this)
Some gentle washes in black/brown were added to the cowling and around the nosepanels.

Hi folks
Nows just the rigging and final touch to fix on this one. The Nieuport have been a really nice and easybuild, I must say that I will build one more of this kit,so another kit is ordered, just so I have one if they will sell out
Will start the work on the rigging tomorrow and hopefully I can have it finished for saturday. There´s a exhibition "Grevens glue galore", If so this will enter one off the tables.
The Nieuport is samll compared to the Albatros DIII
