How about any scale up to 1/28 and any WW I-era monoplane or mutliple-winged or rotary-winged aircraft (yes, there's one that a limited-run manufacturer made, an Austro-Hungarian helicopter prototype)?

sounds great,actually when WW1 came to mind I actually expected to see some Eindeckers in here......... http://m2reviews.cnsi.net/reviews/ww1/cazeindecker.htm .........and lots of Dr.1's and D-vii'sand D-viii's............and theres almost no rigging on the latter 3........But as modelcitizen sasid.........I think a scale up to 1/28th would be nice

Cool!! we have an 11th!! Almonkey is in the running.........I guess we'll start this 1 week after the BoB campaign to give people who ordered something a little extra time for it to come in.so the dates are......

The start date will be JULY 14TH 2003

Its rather simple almonkey.....when the start comes around you start building the themes Model(s).....you update regularly your progress and when the end comes around you post pics of your model(s).Some start more as contests than group builds and you vote on the one you like the most. But I think in this one anybody who truly participated and submitted pics and or threads on progress will get a ribbon.

Looks like a plan to me - since this is my first campaign, does this mean we start cutting and fitting plastic on July !4 and not before?

:-) This sounds great. the start date is OK but I'm in the Barbarossa campaign and as this will be my first WW I subject I personally would like longer than 10 weeks (I'm finding it hard to get anything done for the BfB campaign)

Yep, the idea is to start together, and limit the time somewhat. Otherwise it would just go on forever. It is actually a great way to stay on track. 10 weeks seems to be the norm, but for this campaign I think at least another 4 weeks would be better. Mainly because most of us, I think, are taking the plunge into WW I for the first time.

The categories seem fine. just one thing, in the begginer category can we not limit rigging to stretched sprue? I would never use stretched sprue. Just covering my arse, as I might need to enter as a beginner :-)

OK........well most kits such as revell and even academy supplied thread with their kit.....but actually stretched sprue is really easy to use as rigging and waving a blown out match under the sprue will produce a very fine wire.

I'm in. I'll even paint it in a WW1 scheme if that's what's required...

one question, what does A/M stand for? i do build models honest!

A/M = Aftermarket. Resin, PE, etc...

nobody else have the guts to join??..........you know you want toooooooo.............

I was at a show on saterday and there was that guy producing kits of WW1 planes... and he was even willing to make an interesting price especialy for me !
So I got two kits from the company Hi Tech ! They look great and I'll put them to use for the campaign !
