Hi,
After seeing some old vintage footage of a mig-17, I wondered why did they have all these planes in bright aluminium shining colours ?
It's like the woman in Red on the Matrix simulation... it sticks out of the crowd

Anyway why not a "Aluminium Campaign" ?
Any plane in shining metal colours / any scale.
We can have pre-WWII birds, along with some Mustangs, F-106's, Mig-19...take a pick !!

But realistic markings and colours (..not a F-117 with 1950's bright alum..)..

Yepp. I must try a nmf before I get started on my Thunderbold for Lampies homage to Kartveli. Would a Vampire do? I just don't know how much was plywood and how much was alusheets.

Could I get this allowed perhaps?

How about a Nieport 17 , would that work ?
What short of time frame are you planning to start and end this one ?

Yes Terri it would work.
The timeframe would be around February 2009 and finishing it around November.

I just don't know how much was plywood and how much was alusheets.

I photographed one in Arizona of all places and a fair portion of the fuselage was plywood. At least that which I could see looking thru the cockpit glass. I had no idea they were and was amazed when I did look. I might have to jump on the bandwagon with this build too. Nice proposal for a campaign. "Q"

John -

If NMF is the only criteria, I'd sign up. I've got a lot of choices in my stash I could do in bare aluminum.

Steve

Hmmm, I could probably think of something nice and shiny to build!

Not too early in the season, though! Later half of 2009?

Cheers! // PolarBear

Well, that's a bit late if I should use it for practice on my Thunderbolt, but then again - I can practice on the Thunderbolt to get ready for making a smashing (Yeah right ) Vampire.

I guess my HobbyCraft Vamp need some scratching in the pit too, so that's another good reason. Got to start sometime, right?

I'm on if we're going.

great ordered a pair of 1/144 shorts sc.1 from someplace in japan from ebay so they will probably arrive by August.
Been after sc.1 for ages then two come along at once. So two will be the entire production of this aircraft.
they are little and need very little assembly so perfect for a quick campaign
