Larsa,
Stunning...great build. Well, that puts my SE into the box. Great job on everything about it.....I'm particularly looking at the leather parts as they are kicking my **s. Did you use that flat lycra thread for the rigging?
Also............may be a great build but that thing looks like a cob to actually FLY and FIGHT....what a handfull. But still it's velly velly interesting..........
Regards
Steve

So the pilot was the pilot and the gunner? Only reason I ask is it looks like the gun could pivot or move. Am thinking out loud that one could be very busy in the cockpit trying to fly with one hand and shoot with the other. Could the gun be fixed facing in a general forward position so one could aim the plane and gun both at the same time?

Great build. The amount of rigging really makes me shiver. Too big a challenge for me, but you pulled it of in a great way.

Wonderful!
This is how a DH2 should be built!
Nah Steve, you won't find RAF wires on a DH2. Far too early. It will have been originally rigged with round wire and cable.
Cheers,
Hugh

The DH2 was known as "the spnning Incinerator" due to a supposed tendency to enter unrecoverable spins and a tendency for the engine to shed cylinders and catch fire. In fact, the spinning tendency was little worse than many contemporary aircraft but the recovery actions were not well understood or taught. The gun as originally fitted could pivot in two axes but it was found difficult to aim so pilots fixed it first so that it would only pivot up and down and finally completely. The aircraft was not a good one to crash land as the engine would move forward in the crash and injure the pilot (could be worse, the engine in the FE2b weighed a lot more and would get two people instead of one). Larsa, the model is superb and I must have one. It won't be as good as yours but I will enjoy it. It will match my Nieuport 16

Larsa,
Your build has inspired me to pick up the weekend edition. I figure no one will expect the same results from the non PE edition
As for the 1/32nd kit by Roden, I will have to see how things play out with other builds I have going. I am greatly looking forward to your Roden version as I know it will be spectacular!
