Imagine if that kit had serious fit problems......
If it did i wouldn't be doing it, bur it's a Revell boxing of a hasegawa kit, so the fit is good, and there aren't too many problems.

Well Andy. It's blue allright, but I had to scroll too far between the photo and the model to really see the differ.... ehum, similarity.
You're on the right track anyway. I just hope the clear varnish dries in your cold garage.
We have it cold anyway, and got 20 cm (4") of snow now. So we took an old bike frame and some seriously overprized suspension and did some 1:1 modelling in the workshop today. It took a bit less than your Phantom, since finish is not an issue. If I don't cheer your success tomorrow, send a lily to my nearest hospital

Tomorrow is sleding time!

I've got about 20 shots of this plane, all look different, so i'll pick the one that looks closest to my paint job!!!
Have a good time seldding, i'll be asleep.

It would take me more than 24 hours to just mask the thing. Great work.

well it's now tomorrow, but progress is good, not giving up on this yet, it'll be less than 24 hours.

I now have even more admiration for Andy B doing the 'cat in 12.

Well done mate, glad too see your going to keep at it.
BTW, if my build is anything to go by, you won't touch plastic for about a week afterwards

Yess! I knew you'd make it. A brave challenge, but very entertaining. And a nice Phantom it is.
Now I know all the things to avoid when I try this myself. Good fit, little amount of decals, simple paintjob and I guess you've built this one before huh?

Yes i have throw a Hasegawa F4 together before, an F4E, not the FGR2, but the kit is very similar.
Other suggestions if you want to do it - make sure camera batteries are charged before you start D'oh, and be sure you have enough coffee in the house.
Andy.

Next????
Dunno - not a phantom that's for sure. I have a couple of long term things to finish, Classic Airframes Meteor Trainer - i've spent more time filling and sanding on that so far than on the whole phantom....
I've got a 72 scale sherman, could do that in 12 hours i think, just need to get the right day to do it.
