Inspired by Betheyen's 12 Hour Tomcat last year I've set myself a challenge - Build a 48 scale Phantom in a day.

It's now 0800 - it's time to start

An curiously empty modelling station!

This is the kit to be built as XV408 - 92 Squadron RAF - stationed at Wildenrath in 1991.

Looks like a busy day ahead.

An hour into the build - cockpit is primed, and the frame of the ejection seats are painted.

Got to go walk the dogs!!

Back Soon

I shall be watching this with interest, as it has crossed my mind to do another 12 hour build again.
So good luck Andy, and get the hairdryer ready .

May have chosen the wrong day to do this, it's below freezing in the garage.

Nice office. If you are anything like me, you're soon finished. Pit normally takes me a week and mating that to fuselage and wings roughly an hour.

Andy: I agree. It looks like an airplane.

Nigel: I agree. He's mad.

But the choice of a slick blue, clinically washed finish should reduce wheathering to....none, so that saves some time.

Go Andy go. I'll be watching too.

Yeah. Maybe the "a model in twelve hours" is a bust, but "a model in a day" is impressive enough. I'm crossing my fingers for a true blue mix at the first shot.

Go Andy!

Did I mention that your mad btw?
