Hi Folks,
Just throwing together an Eduard Albatros DVa and got to the part where you glue on some of the pe details to the machine guns. There is a part that goes on the very back of the gun after folding over one of the sides (according to the instructions), but if done accordingly would have the small bent "square" sticking out to the left of each gun.
My reference (NASM book on the Smithsonian DVa) shows nothing like this at the rear of the guns, so I was looking to chat with someone who has put these things together before to perhaps share some advice?
Cheers,
Gary Edmundson

Greetings Gary; They are ammunition round counters. There were several types. If memory serves these were added after the early spring of 1918. But I will check to make sure. They are black like the guns but had 3 small windows where the numbers were on a geared mechanisim like a Vegas slot machine.

Thanks so much Stephen,
I appreciate the help. The thread you linked me to is a treasure trove of good info. After making armoured vehicle models for the past 20 years, it's great to return to the aircraft kits now that they're so advanced. I'll try and post some photos when I'm able, although I'm trying to build STROPP out of the box, more or less.
But I have to admit, I've changed the engine to look more like a 180 hp, and the wings will have the proper camo scheme.
Cheers,
Gary Edmundson

Also the spinner and wheel covers were yellow when she was captured on April 3, 1918.
