Been down of late with severe sinus junk. and work. They have me on a roving commission and I come home totatlly zapped. Things are better now. Back at it tonight. Must finish the Eduard Dr.I and others.

Sinus junk , I can relate to that . Work seems to always pull as away when we are really into something , however ; no work = no money which leads to no kit's .
Glad to see you back on track Stephen . Would have been nice to see Micro sculpt streaked decals applied in this build , but guess we have to wait for a future project on this . One could say that , very curious on how they will look over the CDL .
Looking forward to the up-dates ..........................

I like it. I always thought the streaking was more of a greener shade though. I guess I need to start re-thinking everything I thought I knew.

See the Streaked decals thread here. I am sure they were greener on the Fokker D.VII types.

Unlike other builds of this kit I have seen your landing gear looks "right". Did you end up having to modify them ? If so what method?
Thanks,

Greetings C,
It is a matter of opening up the axle wing locator holes and trimming the back legs about 1/16 of an inch then opening the locator holes in the underside of the fuselage. Several test fits are inorder to get it right. See the previous pages here.

Greetings Terri!
I would have to check my "builds by year list" but if memory serves this is 1/48 Dr.I #36 since my first in 1992. Well the decals are in place. Now just a clean up from the set & sol solutions. I have gone deep into my extra decal sheets to provide some extra werke # serials. I also dug up some build date decals for under the wing locations. These look like "17-12-11" that stands for year-month and day. The airframes after 213/17 were finished around this date.
Dr.I s/n 545/17 w/n 2213 from a contract order dated November-17 It was rec'd by Jasta 11 by May 2, 1918 at Mericout by Cappy. 17:50 Ltn. Hans Weiss KIA Credit to 209 squadron
Then the rest of the rigging and adding the propeller. The previous images gave me a clue as to fixing a couple of minor flaws as well.
Photographing your builds is a great method of cataloging how you did what. So if you build the same kit in the future you can reference your notes and images. This helps whether it is a long or short time between builds.
Though I have mentioned it before here is a great place for Fok. Dr.I research.

I was just looking in my decal stash and found the Aeromaster decals for the Dr.I in 48th 8 or 10 different planes.
