Hi all.
After the success of 2008's Aces High Campaign, if theres enough interest I'm considering submitting a request for Aces High 2.
Same rules as the first one and running for 6 months in 2010.
Jan 1st-June 30th maybe.

And the rules are? (for those of us not around the first time)
.... wait....
Found 'em.
Sounds good. My model stash has me spoiled for choices and I need to whittle down the stack this year (and next!).
Cheers,
Fred

Sounds like a good idea to me. Never a lack of subject matter for for this one, you could run it every year and not run out of subjects!

Oh yes. Does a tail gunner ace count? or is it strictly for pilots?
Wallace McIntosh's Lanc is what I'd do if I can.
It'll take the whole six months though.

Yeah, I'll be in for this too. Would it be better to have it running whole year? That way nobody has to rush and it would bring more people to campaign.

Sounds like a great idea. I will sign up for another place at the aces bar.

Ok,,I'll submit it to Campaign HQ.
Jan 1st-June 30th.
The P-47 group build is running a full year as its a launch pad for the new site, and the 12 month duration is a one off for my site anyway. After this, the P-47 site group builds will be 6 months and I only have one a year planned.
For those of you who werent around when the original Aces High ran, heres a couple of links.

Yeah, I think this time I'll join this campaign. It will be my first campaign here... I don't know yet what I will build but defenitely something of polish pilots. I'll have to do a searching in my stash. How much time do I have to declare?

Hi Michal.
The campaign won't start until next year, so you have loads of time. In theory, you can enlist right up to the day it finishes, but you wont leave yourself much building time if you do that
I'm sure you'll find a Polish Ace for your entry,
Infact, it was a Polish pilot who's photo appears on the original Aces High campaign page, one Franciszek Gabryszewski.

Thank you very much Nigel. I think I'll join the campaign when it will be officialy lauched.
There were a lot of polish pilots with an "ace" status, about 40 in ww2, I don't know how many if you consider ww1 and polish-russian war in 1920... The more problematic is to find apropriate airplane (in my stash) with an interesting painting (kill markings).
Francis Gabreski had strong polish roots, but wasn't polish. His parent's were polish imigrants but Francis was born in the USA. I think we can count him both as a polish and american ace. Because he spoke fluent polish he was sent for an "apprenticeship" to the polish 315Sq. As well we can treat Bolesław Gładych (14 kills): with few others pilots he was "delegated" to the Gabreski's SQ to get experience in flying P-47 so he became in some way an american pilot... hehehe )
It's going to be a lot of fun I hope,. You got me!

Nigel, I'm affraid you're not quite right. According to my best source of knowledge (www.google.com) Gladych was born on 17th May 1918...
I confess, I didn't know the date before googling but I was almost sure it was in May so I had to check...

I'd better let my friend know, as he a long standing lunch appointment with Mike on his 100th, and he may have to wait a while longer
