I am building the WNW LVG and I am at the stage of puting the lozenge on the wings. WNW suggest to paint the wings with a gloss paint before applying the decals, will coating the wings with Future (Pledge in Australia) do the same thing?

Cheers

Yes it will work perfect. Just let it dry for 24 hrs. before putting on the decals.

Future pretty much is a gloss paint really, just a transparent one - so yes, decals will work fine on it.

But it is still going to look like a gloss coat on plastic with decals. Opaque paint helps a lot with adding realism.

The guy's are right you can use future , but for applying the lozenge decals prime the wing first with a grey paint . It will add the depth to the scale appearance of the lozenge .

You can also use CDL ( clear dope linen ) mixing Tamiya buff with a little white and just a dab of grey . The apply the future followed by the lozenge decals .

Thanks for all the advice.

I can now continue with my build and hopefully apply the lozenge without much hassle.
The rest of the model has gone together beautifully.

cheers
