For all you guys who hate masking canopy, I suggest trying the Mr Hobby "Mr. Masking Sol R". This is much better than the older "Mr. Masking Sol Neo" or taping. Give it a try and you may have one less thing to hate in building you aircraft. - Paul

..have never used Maskol or similar products ..surely you have to put these on just as painstakingly and carefully as applying conventional masks..where's the gain?

This is much easier to use than anything I've tried..
1. Apply a thin layer over the whole canopy and let it dry
2. Trim along the frame line
3. Peel off the masking over the frame
4. Airbrush or paint brush the whole canopy.
5. Peel off the masking on the glass.
The steps are very smooth and no hiccups. The sealing on the etches are perfect.

Missiles and bombs…missiles, bombs and drop tanks. Boy how I hate cleaning up seam lines, especially on a good size load say on a F-4 Phantom

Thanks guys for all your comments. Decals and canopy masking apear to be the main concerns, I hope that the advice that has been given by others will help those who find these things an issue.
There are more aspects of the build that annoy me but as I stated at the start, waiting for paint to dry is my main gripe. I suppose I could add to that , little specks of dust in the paint, that bugs me also. I try my hardest to keep everything dust free and place the painted part in a seal compartment to dry but there always seems to be a few particles of dust that get stuck.
Happy modelling guys
Cheers
