Hello all. Just getting a pulse here. I can't recall seeing a campaign for just airliners so......I have about a gazillion things going on currently, campaignwise that is, but wanted to get a feel for how many folks would be up for an airliner only campaign. Era and scale unimportant as long as it's primary purpose is to haul people from point A to point B then it would be good. More cool points awarded for very colorful livery's though. Would probably look at starting sometime next year, maybe even mid-year. Probably run for 6 months. They are small, but can take some time to complete. Your thought?
Thanks, "Q"
Would love to see some more of this type stuff

Just for the record, I would join your campaign to build airliners. I build military and civil aircraft as well. There was a time twenty years ago that I just built civil stuff for awhile. For some reason the civil stuff dosen't draw like the military.
I guess it's because you don't hang ordance off a DC-9's wing! Or don't have machine guns on a Saab 340. I am not sure if anyone makes a model of the Saab anyway, that was the last civil aircraft I took a trip on to Detroit and then Toledo and then back to Northeast Tennessee.
Just though I would add my two cents. Russell

Thanks for the support Russell. I figured it would be a tough sell. Maybe I'll try it again later to see if anyone else is interested. Thanks, "Q"

yeah you never ever see airliners here do you?
I do have a plan to make a shorts 360 for my old mans birthday next year.
That's not till July. so Jan-July would suit me. It'll be getting built anyway
but I'll be sure to post progress here so you can keep me right Matthew.
Interwar liners as well I'd love to make Do-X, Clipper, Ju-52 & 86, Empire,
He-111, SM-79. Gorgeous.
Would sure make a change from 109s and p-47
I'm guilty of a 109 collection growing myself.

I guess this is not my bag, but I got a tip for Russell.
The SAAB 340 is modelled in 1:72 by Broplan. It can be found at Rebell Hobby for a swedish fortune. 625 Sek is roughly $80 today. They have it as airliner, military transport and Awacs though.
Tony.
But there is a C 47 staring down from the shelf from time to time, and we did fly those in ORANGE over the north sea between 1943-1945. Could be a flashy one.

I could be interested. I started doing a series of Western Pacific "Advert" Boeing 737's Using Daco's Decals. I still have a few in the stash to do and i'm waiting for Daco to release the rest of their range of West Pac Decals. Heres a Pic of my "The Simpsons" Jet
A Campaign would certainly be a reason to get enthused again.

You can count me in on this. I have plenty of BOAC decal sheets waiting for victims Plus others like Imperial Airways or Dan Air.

Hi guys. Thanks for the support and interest. Looks like this could get off of the ground a little further down the road, so I will keep that in mind. I have a boat load of other committments going at the moment, both on this site and others so I don't want to over extend myself. I'll look at this again after the first of the year and see if everybody is still up for it. Thanks again for the support thus far. "Q"
Allen, nice looking Simpsons livery. I have the same sheet, as well as a host of others that I want to get to...... Now all I need is the time...arrgh.

I tried last year for a civil campaign last year but it bombed. I had just finished a AN-2 conversion to civil, and the one before that had been a 1/48 Ju-52 civil, there are several kits available for light aircraft as well. I'd give it a go so long as I can choose any airliner, no matter how old.

I still have a couple of Revells (Ryanair 737-800 and Lufthansa 50th Anniversary A321) in the stash.
