Hi Michal
The scissors were introduced during the Mk. IX production run, so it depends on the particular aircraft you're building whether they're appropriate. If you have them, the shape of the gear door and wheel well are slightly different to accomodate them. Check out The Spitfire Site for a lot of helpful info.
All the best

Thank you Mark and Tim for good words.
Mark, I can't vacuform yet but it's never too late to learn. I put the case of windshield on side to think about it without haste and search for some tips. Answers in this thread gave me already two and other forum another one. Now I have to cosider which one will be the best with my skills.
Tim, it's niether love nor hate, I just want to do it right and have this Spitfire done.
Thank you Rowan, that's what I found so far. I think I'll remove the scissors but I'm surely not going to reshape the wheell well

It's been already two months with no update. The reason is simple: no time for this project. Beside I'm doing researches with vac-forming of the new windscreen just as Mark suggested but I'm not satisfied yet, I have to find better resources and get some practice.
The battle plan for the future is:
- find more time for modelling during working days
- make a good windscreen
- finish ailerons (rescribe and re-rivet)
- build a proper airintake (the one under the engine, for the superscharger I think)
- scratch build a new reflector gunsight
- make some last touches in the cockpit area
- finish landing gear

Hi Michal,
Just finished build No.1 out of the box, didn't do any detailing, but did try to reduce the thickness of the upper wing panels, not quite enough given the step between wing and fuselage!! Lol.
Anyway hope you don't mind me posting these here.
The decals are a mixture of Airfix kit and ICM, the Airfix ones were best!!! on with the build 2 and this time a little detailing needs to be done.
Doug.
Great Job Michal,
can you upload these pictures again? i believe they are cannot be openned.

Hi, these pictures were posted by Doug. I'm affraid he has removed them form the hosting server so they can not be displayed anymore. Sorry, but I didn't save them so can't upload them again.

Here's the result of my struggle with the carburator air intake. I used the Airfix part as a base (after shortening) and some scratchbuilding using very thick CA glue, a plastic stripe and a lot of patiencie and sanding. So let's roll with the pics.

Nice work Michal. I was thinking about this build the other day- glad you're still working on it.

Hi guys, glad to see you here I'm still working on it but summer time doesn't make it easier.
This intake is about 90% done already, some last touches are still to be done. I have also worked a little with in the back of the pilot seat making that distance piece behind the seat. I'm working also with the voltage regulator - this machine had it just like the mk.Vs. Some touches are also done in the right wing root for the gun-camera or the fuel cooler hole.

Ok, here's my latest effort. All of the upgrades which I made (especially the holes in the wing root) were done according to the original pictures of my aircraft.

Here are few more pictures depicting the area behing the pilots seat. I will be reworking the frame behind pilots seat and this bar between frames soon as they are much to low and after using a vac-formed canopy the gap between frame and plexi will be very visible (and much bigger than in the original plane).
