What did you use for the antena wire?

Cheers csch!

The antenna is just our old friend stretched sprue. I attached it with CA and tightened it up with a hot toothpick. The connectors (or attenuators? - maybe someone can say what they're for on a real aircraft...) are blobs of PVA painted to match.

Glad you like her! - I'm just pleased I actually managed to finish a model for once... I put it all down to joining Armorama and everyone's encouragement. :-)

All the best

HER? So it is a girly 109 eh? Makes it even easier for the heroic RAF to see off these 109s #:-)

Careful Martin...

She's got claws...!

It would be such a shame to mess up all those poor little Spits and Hurricanes... Bless!

Mal - There's NO WAY I'll let you examine my paint job that closely - I'm not confident enough about the accuracy! Best you'll get is the sight of my tail heading back to France while your poor old Hurri putters along a good 30mph slower...

You mean running away :-) My Hurri might be slower but with the correct use of energy manouvering and positioning to attack out of the old currant bun (for penpen, currant bun-sun :-) ) you wont stand a chance. Except of course if Galland is actually flying her
Seriously Rowan, the scheme looks great. No one can argue the authenticity, unless they have seen it in real life. I would really like to pick your brains (assuming you didn't loose them in the fall ) about this scheme. Better still a feature on how you did it would be great. :-)
Well done again. I assume you are in at least the other 2 aircraft campaigns? After showing just how good you are :-)

Hi Mal!

Running away from a dogfight... never! Running away from a paint-job inspection... especially under your scrutiny...well! cough! cough!...

Seriously, I'm really flattered that you think it's worth a feature. In all honesty, I don't think I can possibly add anything to the features you've already posted, which have set a standard most of us can only dream of achieving.

I must admit I cringe at the idea writing anything but, if it's in the interests of keeping up the quota of aircraft-related features... well maybe... but don't be surprised if you end up being asked to proof-read stuff!

Yep!! I'm definitely in the WW1 and Naval campaigns - but the thought of a bi-plane is pretty scary... for the Naval campaign it'll probably be a Sea Hornet or Skyraider... how about you?

All the best

Looks really good, Rowan. I'm not much of a wingy-thingy guy, but that is my opinion. LOL
Don't worry about bases. They are just there to hold the model and only count in dioramas.
A bunch of years ago, one of the guys in my local IPMS chapter had a chance to meet Galland at an airshow up near Washington, DC. He knew Galland was going to be there so he brought a model of his 109 with the "MIckey Mouse" insignia. And got Galland to autograph the base for him.
PS. I have a copy of Galland's obituary from the New York Times of Feb.14, 1994. If you want a copy, PM me your snail mail address and I'll mail it to you. This offer is for anyone else reading this post, also.
Keep up the good work.
