Can you please suggest me an 1/32 scale ww2 kit that can be used on detail sets platform (can it be cheap?)

Cheers Nick

Hi Nick

Revell's re-boxed version of Hasegawa's Bf 109K can often be found selling cheaply and is a great basis for adding detail to.

All the best

I agree with the 109 series. You can get a resin engine set. PE to your hearts content. There is a good availability of 109 G models.

A little more expensive, the Trumpeter ME 262 (TSM2260 Messerschmitt Me-262A-1a Fighter w/ R4m Rocket is the better one) with the big ed set. I did one already and loved it. So I got a second one. It is a great Base for learning how to use PE. There are some nice decals available also. There are resin cockpit and wheel bay sets available.

The Encore Albatros D.II (ENC32001 Albatros D.II Bolelcke). It comes with all the extras already in the kit. (I know it is WWI, so sue me)

Hasegawa F-104 if you are into sleek and shiny. The amount of Resin available is declining though it can still be found.

Good luck.

I'd guess the Bf-109E has a lot of AM, but the FW-190 A-E would have a ton-more if you can make a german aeriel launched torpedoe P-47's have a growing field of AM and accy's. I guess Zeros,Dauntless SBD's and Avengers would round out WW2. Jump to modern and Phantoms probably dominate with F-14,F-16 close behind. Just guessing from a mostly treadhead kinda styrene mangler.....

Nick

AM means "After Market" its a term used for all the resin, photoetch and other little add ons you can buy for your kit.

As most say the 109 is probably one of the most AM catered for kits out there and Revell are reasonably priced and available.

I love this kit and all that detail sets!!

But the floor of the cockpit is wrong!!!

It's flat in the kit but the real is corrugated:

Some production batches of the P-47 had flat, some corrugated floors.

Hi Nick

And notice - Allen has included a replacement cockpit in his line-up. You did say you want to add detail sets...

Flat floors were used from the D-30 Batch onwards but the MDC set has options for both floors and types of instrument panels. Read my blog for some pictures of the cockpit set and a review of the item can be found HERE

Photos of the restoration of "Dottie Mae" can now confirm that the D-28 batch had the later style smooth floor.

That's not being off topic they were replying to your statement! You said the cockpit flooring was wrong they informed you about the AM set and the different floors that were used. You asked for suggestions about models which members have kindly given their advice and found lists of AM things for you. You said there was a problem with the flooring which people have kindly given you guidance on.

Personally I think off topic would be posting nose-arts etc not offering guidance about the cockpit floor which could influence what kit you decide to buy!
