Terri,

My experience with the WNW S.E.5a was pretty good. I have a Brisfit that I'm eagerly eyeing, with some preliminary painting and the seat/gas tank put together. Given that this campaign is already 4 months in, could I enter this one? I'm planning on the home defence nightfighter and am reading Fredette's "The Sky on Fire"

Looking forward to it!

Terri,

Excellent job! That really looks great!

I have the fuselage and wing sub-assemblies done on the Brisfit, but am a bit stalled. Hopefully your excellent build will inspire me to get back to work!

That ol stringbag looks great Terri.

I must be nuts. One month left on the campaign and I go get myself a Roland C.II from Eduard. At least rigging and struts are minimal. Never built a 1/48 Biplane before, looking forward to getting started on it. It'll be OOB and basic rigging just to get a feel of what I can do in the larger scale.

Wish me luck with the Walfisch.

Thanks Mikael and Jaypee .

It's great to have on for this campaign . The Roland C.II is a great kit and builds up nicely . The only part of the kit to watch out is the fit of the lower wing to the fuselage , which will need filling . This area is smooth and blends in with the fuselage , just like on the pfalz D.III/IIIa .

Looking forward to seeing your build blog

Thanks for the heads up Terri. It arrived in the post today. Looks nice in the box. With etch and masks in the box. I could get hooked on these Eduard kits if I'm not careful.

Just going to do the overall pale blue with fish scales as per the box art. I'll get cracking on it tonight.

Hi all.

How come there are two threads for this campaign? I posted my pictures in the other one....

But anyway, here they are again..

A few hassles with this kit. First up the floow was warped and resisted my attempts to straighten it with all its ingenuity..

Second, there is no way the engine cowls will close. The exhaust gets in the way and the only way I got them to close was to remove parts of the exhaust..

Kit was brush painted (my first for about 18 years) and I was surprised at how well the Humbrol acrylics and enamels covered. I remember I went off them years ago because they did not cover well.

Anyway, it is finished now and is my first big WWI aircraft. Very little rigging luckily!!

@ Mark: great build as usual.

@ Stephen: Nice choice, I have been unable to locate this kit in my area. Cannot wait to see the finished a/c.

@ Terri: WOW! nice build and what captures my attention is the rigging. I have been reading your posts on that subject to get ready for a build.

@ Warren: did you cut your fingers all of that tin/aluminum nice build and there was no rigging from what I can see on this a/c or are my eyes bad which kit is this?

oops.. sorry.. it is the WNW 1/32 Junkers J.1. I did not cut my fingers, but burnt one of them with super glue... Picture this, I have filled a small gap with some thin CA (mistake one) and did not realise a bit had drained through the part and onto my finger. I then applied a little accelerator to fix the hole instantly and all of a sudden I got a very big heat sensation in my middle finger. The accelerator had gone through the part and hit the CA on my finger. One of the by-products of this process is lots of heat and I ended up with a deep burn on that finger. Great!!

Only rigging on this aircraft are control cable runs at the tail which cannot be seen in the pictures.

Even with the problems it was an enjoyable build.

Hi Terri,

I ran into some delays with decals and resin for the Hansa-Brandenburg W.13 to finish for the deadline so I'll be submitting my Halberstadt C.II for the campaign.

Thanks!!

Hi all!
I always forgot to public here the pics of my entry to the group build, so I'll do it now.
It is an Eduard 1:48 Bristol F2B. I did a WIP blog here on the Early Aviation site, so if you wish, you could see the various steps of the build. hope you will enjoy.
Ciao
Edo

Well then, its the Mirage 1:48 Halberstadt CL.II for me if I can get to it before the end?

No joy in Mudville folks I am not going to get this one finished before the eng date. I have too much rigging to finish and so many things going on. My apologies. Though I have rec'd a request to extend the date . I had to remind the member that this was Terri's Campaign its upto her.

"Stephen,

I humbly submit a request to extend the deadline for this by one more month. I understand if it is not possible. I've started the Hi Tech Breguet but there is no way that I will make the current deadline. I didn't want to let all of you down.

Dwayne"

Two days left to go on this one guy's and I must say I'm very impressed by the builds which have been displayed here
