Hi all
It's going to be a bit of a messy week on the family front with medical appointments etc., so I'll be largely off-line for a few days anyway, but I'm going to also use the enforced lay-off to try to set up a new routine for myself with much more time spent at the workbench and less time staring at the PC screen.
So, I won't necessarily log-on every day, because I just find it so tempting to deal with admin. stuff and then browse endlessly - by the end of which, what limited time I'd planned for modelling has pretty much gone and I say to myself "It can wait until tomorrow" - which then of course gets wasted in just the same way!
There's plenty of Staffers to catch any urgent stuff (I know - I'm the world's worst at delegating anyway, so this'll be good practice! LOL!), and I'll obviously keep an eye on e-mails.
All the best
Rowan

Really, take your time for things you must do and also for some stuff you want to do!!

Rowan,
Hope that works for you, I've tried it in the past and my will power failed the test.

Hi there
Crikey! I think you're trying to keep me away for ever! I have a new build ready to photograph for a Feature, but I can't promise to finish anything else for a week or two, or three...
All the best

Hi Chris

Hi again
Maybe not so much shifting the balance, as shifing boxes and furniture! I'm starting my "big project" today to clear out what's become a store-room for my Stash, and transform it into a workroom / study.
It should give me a much better, larger space for modelling - all part of the plan to build more...
So - total chaos will reign in Castle Aeroscale for a week or so. I'll try to keep up with Reviews etc., but at some point (probably towards the end of the week if all goes according to plan) I will go totally off-line while I replan my computer set-up.

Hi again
Well, I've moved most of the Stash out of the room, so I've got space to turn round at last! I've put a few of my old bookshelves together - it will be a HUGE treat just to have my refs easily accessible again! I think that's enough for day #1. Tomorrow, I have to move a wardrobe and other furniture...

Hi again
All's going well - total chaos, but I can see the "light at the end of the tunnel" and it should be quite a decent modelling den eventually. I've got to the point where I need to pull the plug on the computer ready to shift more stuff around, so I'll probably be off-line for the rest of the day.

Can we see some after pic's ? And no hiding under the bed to take the shot either
Posted: Saturday, April 03, 2010 - 08:47 AM UTC
Hi Terri
Don't worry, there'll be no escaping the obligatory before-and-after shots of the room once it's done.

Hi again
Well, stage #1 is finished:
I can't do anything about the wonderful '70s wallpaper(!), but the Stash of kits in packing cases that was piled to the ceiling is all cleared out and I have a space to work in.
Still lots of sorting out to do, and I want to put up a couple of shelves along the wall so I can clear the long work-top, but I used the little photo set-up tonight for some pack-shots and worked nicely.
All being well, tomorrow I'll have a chance to do some modelling again at last.
All the best

So are you building models in the 'loo? Or is the sink just a feature of British building codes?
Posted: Monday, April 05, 2010 - 08:14 PM UTC
Hi Mark
A loo! No, it used to be a bedroom - before it ended up as a store-room, that is. In the dim and distant past Castle Aeroscale was once a guest-house, and the former owners installed a sink in every bedroom for the grockles.
Let's hope your guess won't turn out to be a fitting comment on the quality of the work I'll do in there!

Putting a loo in the modelling room is brilliant, just Inet, a fridge and TV and you'll never have to leave it again .. except for the postie. And didn't you write the spray booth removes all kind of smell....
cheers
