Hello fellow modellers

i have been modelling mostly armour for many years now on and off but have seriously involved myself in my first serious aeroplane.

The kit of choice is a Hasegawa Nakajima Ki-43-II Hayabusa (Oscar) 1/32.

I have noticed that a lot of japanese planes had extensive paint chipping, can anyone show me a pictorial on how to do this or give me any hints on how to do it.

And also some tips on weathering !

regards

Hi Dez!
Welcome to the club!

If you do armour you'll probably know a lot on weathering and the dirtiest plane is way cleaner than the cleaner tank!

Far from being a master myself, I'll sudjest you to search for the "salt" techinque, here on the site, I think it is the best method to recreate the look of Jap planes (even if I never built one).

I'd sudjest you to start from here:

and, please, show us your progress as you go along!

ciao

Edo
