Steffen Arndt (alpha_tango) has waisted no time building the lovely 1:48 scale Tamiya Komatsu G40 bulldozer. The model was built in two days and then photographed in an appropriate diorama setting.

Hi DS
many thanks!!!
Actually it was a very pleasant build. I started on Saturday evening and finished it Monday morning (then I decided to drill out the head lights and it took a few hours more to really finish it) ... all in all I think it took maybe 5 or 6 hours (without drying time for the glue, paint and washes)
I posted some other pix in the thread on Armorama:

thanks for watching and
all the best
Steffen
P.S. Thanks to Marc for taking the photos and to Jean-Luc for arranging the photo feature!!!

Super job Steffen, and in 2 DAYS !?! It looks like a really nice little kit. Were there any issues to be aware of?
Cheers, D

Thanks Damian (and Nick though I am not sure if you are really commenting on my model )!
Damian I had no problems with this kit! It was really easy and I had a lot of fun with it (see e.g. link posted above). Because of that I started the next 48 scale militar kit yesterday:

Hi Nick
No it is not a tank it is a "SPATG" (self propelled anti tank gun) .. but honestly you do not have to like it as we are on Aeroscale here and military vehicles seldom go volunteerly airborne
The Komatsu is a IJN engineer vehicle for building air fields/ strips so it does fit here IMO.
all the best

Very nice work on that Komatsu!
Those 1/48 scale ground vehicles that Tamiya make are terrific kits and some of them work quite well on aircraft dioramas. Too bad they don't make an Opel Blitz fuel truck, I am sure it would be a big seller for them.

Hi Steffen,
this is really a nice built! Especially I like how real the tracks and the shield look. As a fan of japanese WW II aircraft this little Komatsu is also on my shopping list. But I won't get it together within 2 days.
And yes, Marc's japanese diorama is fantastic. If he ever throws it away I'll stand where it lands ....
Happy modelling
Torsten

Italeri will bring out an Opel Blitz fuel truck in 1:48! It was already announced for 2009 so we have hope that it will come out this year. I have it already ordered at my dealer.
Ciao

Many thanks Les and Torsten!!
@Torsten: This is really an easy kit and I think everyone can do it over a weekend.
BTW I will pick up the dio when it knocked you out
@Les: as Torsten wrote ... Italeri display at Nürnberg Toy Fair .. and Jean-Luc's profile

Steffen,
Very nice! You achieved an excellent tome of the dirt-ground metal of the tracks and blade. I hope a US dozer in on the horizon.
