Well here it is the first model that I have finisded for 2010:
Nakajima J1N1-S Type 11 (Gekko)
901st Hikotai, 153rd Kokutai
based at Matina Airfield (Davao No. 2)
Mindanao, Philippines in August 1944
As always, model was built out of the box. Build was straight forward.
Tail numbers were from spare decals. Applied minimal weathering.
I have two more Gekkos. Will build another Philippine based aircraft soon while the other will be based in Japan for homeland defense.
Cheers,

Great work Tony. I love the look of relatively un-weathered aircraft because it shows the shape a lot better for me.
I built one of these Gekko's a while ago and I found it a great kit, although I didn't like the fit of the canopy very much.

Tony I want to thank you very much!!!!!
Besides that your model is really nice!
I read this post this morning and as you showed your model pretty clean I wanted to post just one of the pictures of my totally rotten example (it was a land based night fighter of Shigetoshi Kudo) ... the problem was I did not have good ones.
As chances are I payed a visit to Marc Toillie (Mark58) today and took the model with me. You know what, he took his beautiful dio setting outside and shot a bunch of nice picture with my model on it ....
I do not want to take over your thread (!), but one for the show:
So many thanks again!!!!!
all the best
Steffen

Thanks guys.
Steffen, I think your Gekko is very nice and it looks good on the photo with the background.
Overall its a nice kit and I agree with the fit of the clear parts as it needs a little bit of work to fall into place.
Model was painted with a mix of Mr. Color paints and slightly weathered the aircraft with enamels.
Cheers,
