Ok I get it. The cross is on the other side of the wing.

What you are doing is showing the translucency of the fabric.
I've seen it done with the spars and ribs just never with the markings, but it makes total sense.

The shadow of the dark cross (or cockades too, I suppose) showing on the opposite side. You've sprayed it slightly off the surface to mimic the diffusing effect of the fabric too.
I like it a lot, it'll give a feeling of the space inside the wing.
Clever!
I have this kit so I really appreciate your walkthrough.

Keep it coming but not too fast there is a lot to understand.

Yes John Paul this is exactly what i was trying to say.

As i said to Terri before the reason that i am posting so fast is that i had already finished this model, i build it as a review model for the Eduard at the pages of a modelers site called Helmo (thats for Hellenic Modelers).
So i thought that i have to post it here fast , but Ok you are wright i will post afer some time so i have the chanse to anser at questions if of course there are any questions.

Well to be honest ,i wasnt very happy with the resault, the masking of crosses was to ''sharp" and so many coats of paint create "'steps" when i remove the masking tape.
So i had to repaint it and try another aproach:blush:

I really like the shading on the wings , it's just right .
Ribbing effect is spot on .

I'm almost tempted to pull out the weekend kit .....

Thank you very much Terri, the trick here is not to overdone with the shadows, because the paint is only one or two tones down from the white so we mast be very carefull with the contrast, it mast be soft not hard, that is also for the wash.
Ok take out this weekend kit and go for in.

I like the effect. It is subtle but yet it is clearly noticeable.

Looking forward to more.

Best

Hi Dimitris!
Your work is very well done.
The shadeing of the cross is simple but very brilliant, indeed!

May I ask you a question: do you shade also the upper surface of the lower wing?
Thank you

Thank you Mark,
thank you Edoardo, No no, i think that this is completely wronk, the light is the sorse that makes the transparency at the fabrick, and the light usualy came from above so it is imposimble to see the crosses at the uper side of the lower wings, unless if the plane flys downwards,i mean with the up side down
then maybe but.........

Thanks Gregory,
another friend at Drome ask me a question about the color i use and i will give yoy the anser because i think it might be usefull for somebody.
So, i use Gunze RLM 78 + White, i dont remember how much white because i put drops of white until i was satisfied with the resault, and as i told you before i use many new ""tips"" in that airoplane for the painting and one of it is that i actually made three diferend shades of this color, the darker one i use it for all the fabrick surfasses wings and tailplane, one lighter for the fusselage and one more lighter for all the metalic surfasses like cowling and all the other metalic panels, undercariage etc. Maybe somebody say that this is useless but if take a beter look at the photos and more carefull you will see that this is evidense. And remember the details always makes the diferense Just take good care not to overdone and the weathering will do all the work to balanse the efect.
cheers
