This is the Tamiya 1/72nd Thunderjet kit, that I think is a lovely model to build. The amount of detail in the kit is great and it produces a very pleasing model. This is straight out of the box, no added detail, etc.

Very, very cool! I want to get that kit, when I have some money that is! Ha ha. You did a great job on a classic jet. Russell

Bought that one not long after it was released. Now if I get trained up enough to build it.

Very nice F-84 Mick. I really like your panel lines, how did you do them?
Just a little side note, I still have a plastic toy F-84 that is in the exact same markings as the one you have modeled with tailsign 110454 and fuselage code FS-454, but it has "Four Queens" on the fuselage side where yours has the tiger. I just thought it was strange

Hi Dean
I did the panel lines with Promodellers washes. Just brush on , leave it to dry then wipe off the excess. Then I finish with some Johnson Klear with Tamiya's Base Clear mixed in.
As to the markings, these are the decals that came with the kit, but I also have some aftermarket decals for the same plane. These are the same as the Tamiya ones, so I used that kit ones on the model.

Okay, thanks for that. I'll have to give that a try sometime.

Yeah, try it out. It's easy to work with and because it's a clay/water mix, if you mess up then it just washes off. Also if you don't think it's dark enough, just add another coat.
