I'm assuming that this is the 1/48 from Mono to Rev. Unless RoG boxed Airfix's 1/72. I hear the fits were a bit of a bear. How did it go for you?

Yeh its the 1/48th
Didnt have too many problems with it to be honest, the odd bit here and there but overall a good kit

Hi James,
Paintwork looks great.
Could do with more care on the seams and gaps on the underside.
Gerald Voight's "Reading the Seams" thread is a massive help, it really explained to me how glue it supposed to work.
Care on the seams will make your builds take on a new life, here is the link.
https://aeroscale.kitmaker.net/forums/111677&page=1
The C MM 1978 logo is still embossed on the lower wing
.
The original plastic colour (green?) is noticeable in the forward glazed area. A tip is to paint the edge black to make the fuselage skin look thin.
Your decals look good.
Nice work and keep posting. Esp during building. Often someone will pick up something you might have missed.
All the best

James,
Very good job with you "Widow Maker"
You decal like a pro!
Jaypee pointed you toward some good resources. Considering the trouble I am having with my current build, I ought to re read them!
I hope you enjoyed building her--looks like it. Can't wait to see your Mosquito! If you have any questions about techniques, do not hesitate to ask. Lots of friendly talented members here.

James, I like your work. The B-26 is a great looking bird, although called in the U.S. "the Baltimore Whore", Martin aircraft being based in or near Baltimore and the wings being a little shorter than they "should be", it's a good looking aircraft.
I think if you wanted to do some work on the seams on the fuselage you could use some super glue with the application of some water afterward. It causes the glue to harden quickly, and allows one to sand the glue smooth and thus fill any seam you don't want. Other than that, I can't see anything to mention.
Again, great airbrush work. What kind of brush do you use? Take care, Russell.

Hi James,
the Marauder (the only REAL B-26!!!!) was always one of my favourite bombers. I like these "flying cigars". Unfortunatly there exists no original anymore. They were scrapped by the hundreds in Germany in 1946
I have this old Monogram kit in Revell boxing 3 x in my pile. Don't ask me what versions I want to build. As far as I know "Idiots Delight" looked very war weary at the end. I have the weird idea to build the "Big Hairy Bird" one day
which I have on my Aeromaster decal sheet .....
Congratulation for your great model of a great warbird!
Happy modelling!

Torsten, don't be so quick to mourn the passing of this wonderful old bird.

This is the last flying Marauder. It is in Fantasy of Flight in
Florida.

The guy in the costume works at the air park. This is the only photo I have of the whole plane

And of course I have the inevitable self-portrait

ouch, thats embarassing

That's good news, Bruce!
Since when is she flying again?
I only heard, that the CAF lost a Marauder some years ago and thought, that would be the last flyable .....
But without a nose art she lookes a bit naked, doesn't she? I like that pic with the Cat in the background!

@Torsten,
Fantasy of Flight is a private collection, open to the public, in Polk City Florida. The owner/operator is a gentleman named Kermit Weeks.
As I understand it the last time the Marauder flew was 2009. When I go back I'll have to ask where Kermit got it from.
The plane is well kept up, alto that shade of green does make her look a bit weathered, and yes she does need some art work on her, as well as national markings, serial numbers.
I suspect she is a B-26B/C since I she seems to have the straight wings, as opposed to the B-26G twisted wing.
I hope that Kermit is going to put the gun packs in her too.

I've been searching for info on "The Big Hairy Bird" and came across this via Google :-)
Torsten, do you still have the decal sheet and, if you do, could you scan it for me please? (300dpi at 1:1)
Thanks in anticipation.
