I've tried kitchen foil on a 1/72 F-104 drop tank using Elmers glue. Getting a smooth consistent finish is difficult.

When using kitchen foil it's necessary to use Micro metal foil adhesive :-)

I didn't say it couldn't be done because it certainly can. I just didn't have very good luck and have since explored other options that I like much better (metalizers). An article will be published sometime on my trials and tribulations...lol!
