Some images of the future release of the 1/48 Gotha V from Hippo Models. I imagine this will be a large beast, but very welcome and impressive one for WWI aircraft modelers. Judging from the catalogue number, this release could be the start of some impressive new plastic injected kits from Hippo Models in 1/48, lets hope so.

Thanks Tim for sharing this with us , but it has been posted on their site for quit some time now ( a few years ) and still no news on whether this will be released . When it is finally released , I have a feeling will be be missing an arm and leg for the funds . For those who can't wait to have one in this scale can pick up the Copper State Model kit , very inpressive kit .

Evidently the kit is released and the first 25 sold out. Now they are waiting for the next 25 to arrive.

Hannants in the U.K have this kit out now, priced at £69.99 + p&p
a bit pricey for my pockets

I just read this thread

This aircraft is one of my favorites and in 1/48 it's such a great subject

But it's too expensive (for me) & difficult to build

Cheers Nick

Hi there

It looks gorgeous - and it's £62.99 at Model Hobbies. Every little bit helps, but that's still more than I can justify on a kit I know I'll probably never have a chance to build.

All the best

it is beautiful, it might seem/be pricy but so are WNW 1/32nd kits when the cursed taxes are paid.

Either way I think I would be signing my own death certificate or divorce papers it I succumbed

Looks like a very very nice kit. The mouldings have an Eduard kind of feel to them. The price is high, but seems fair considering the complexity and size of the kit.

I will not buy this myself, the rigging would kill me. But I look forward to see the first build feature on Aeroscale

Mmmm, would have similar problems I think... But Can't help thinking about the WNW Gotha... If you're going to try robbing the bank you might as well do it bigtime and go for it in 1:32

It would be a bit harder to try hiding the box behind your back though
