Finally finished! Woo-Hoo! I used the Hobby Craft 1/32 scale Camel as my lighting reference.

Clairmarais Camel
oil on linen
24" x 17.5"

Clairmarais Camel depicts Sopwith Camel number B'7407 on approach to Clairmarais aerodrome on April 23, 1918. B'7407 was assigned to 54Sq RAF, which was based at Clairmarais during this period. On April 23, Lt. RTT Waring crashed this Camel upon landing but walked away from the incident. This painting was commissioned by the grandson of RTT Waring.

Nicely done! There are some paintings that excite the senses. This is one of them.

Hello Russell

Very nice work indeed, I get a great feeling of beeing up there with the Camel swooning over the fields

Best Regards

You painted this? Truly amazing. I really like the light effects, especially the fading on the props.
