They make turned buckles that you use for rigging your WW1 models. I have gone through over 100 of them so far. You COULD make them yourself, but it is much much easier to buy from Bob. Look on his website for rigging methods.

How many buckles (approx) does one need for the average plane? I'll have 10 kits in my stash by the time I order from WNW again.

HI Bill,

I've used bobs buckles together with precut tubes (that he also offers) – and they've been great. As Warren says, you can make buckles yourself – but its difficult to get them as fine and in scale as Bobs + it takes time from other modeling...

As for how many – it really does depend on the subject – an Albatros take about 40 give or take (and the carpetmonster do claim some in the process) A british subject would take more. – I reccon the DH2 I'm doing at the moment will require about 80 – perhaps more. The best way would be to calculate the number of rigging points, then ad some as spares.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Mikael, that helps. I have a DH2, and Eindecker, a Bleriot and some "vanilla" craft like the Albatros D3 and D5.
