Hello Everyone.
Well now the Albatros is finished I better start another one.
As you can see I had already painted the Linen areas the other day when I had some paint left over from the F.2B. It has had time to dry and is nice and hard.
If you remember I had a few problems with 'levitating seat belts' with the Albatros, and as I am waiting for a load of cloth belts to arrive I had a brain wave and annealed the unpainted WNW PE belts to make them easier to bend. This seems to have worked OK, but I am sure the microfibre and PE HGW belts I have ordered will be mucho bettero than the PE ones... and at less than $10AUD a pop they are great value in my eyes.
Should get the cockpit installed sometime this afternoon.

Hello Warren:
You certainly are a prolific builder! My gosh, another one on the bench. You do great work and will be watching as this one unfolds.
Best
Mark

Thanks Mark.
While one is waiting to start a new job one can devote many days to models.
I got the fuselage buttoned up yesterday and have let it dry overnight. The Fokker and its decals have been keeping me busy as well. Not sure which one to start next as I am trying to build them as they where released by WNW but I don't REALLY want to build another Albie quite so soon. Any ideas?? Maybe a Roden one instead..

Greetings fellow KotSers.
Here is a small update on the Pup which continues to have steady progress..
As you can see I have the lower wing on after buttoning up the fuselage and giving it heaps of time to dry.
I have finished the engine and have sprayed the Natural Linen colour on the bottoms of the wings and tailplane.
Next up is masking and applying the PC10.

Hi Warren:
One of my favorites is the Nieuport 28. Roden's 1/32nd scale kit is a great kit, and there is a trio of sheets for it from some after market decal maker who's name escapes me at the moment. Squadron has them.
Good luck

Really having hard time deciding what to build next. Like the Pup. Watching yours may help me make up my mind.

Hi Marc
Maybe these in progress pics will help
Now lets see... since the last installment I have;
- Finished the painting of the fuselage and wings. I forgot the aluminium panels in the nose area I had told myself I had to paint before putting the upper wing on. So I had to carefully paint them later.
- Applied the decals. I found that I could not fit the decals in between the ailerons and wings and decided to touch it up with paint later.
- Glued all the eyeets in place and drilled out the holes necessary for passing wires through etc. I found 0.15mm wire in a local Toy Shop that also does some RC stuff. I was looking for Tamiya paints there but they had none of the common ones in stock. Ended up ordering them from OS at a fair saving.
- Attached the top wing. No real problems here.
- Attached the rudder. The rudder and ailerons in these WNW kits don't seem to have enough area to glue parts to others. Next time I am going to drill some little holes and install some short lengths of brass rod to hld the ailerons and rudder in place more securely.
- Attached all the rigging to the top wing BEFORE I put it in place. Unlike the Bristol Fighter where I forgot about it..
- Started a new plane while waiting for the Pup to 'harden up'..
Undercarriage and cowling pre-touchup.

Another fine and fast build – you're really starting to amass quite the collection of these birds now – great job!

Thanks for that Mikael.
I was thinking of building the Roden Albie III (OAW) next, but one WNW then one Roden may keep me a bit sainer..

I think You'll find Roden's kits very entertaining as well – with care they build really well, and can produce great results too!

I built the Dr.I a few years ago and it was fine, but the D.VI I am building t the moment is testing me, mainly due to decals and short shot fuselage.
SPAD VII is going OK but fit of parts not as good as WNW. Probably due to being one of their older kits.

Greetings from Downunder..
The Pup is finished, well all except for some control pushrods which I will be adding later after a little practice.
So there she is. Finished for the moment. I think it came out pretty well even if I do say so myself. Yeah I know,, self-praise is no recommendation..
On to my next build, after I watch the NRL (Rugby League) for a few hours..
Cheers Everyone and thanks for looking.

Thanks Terri and Larsa.
The Pup went relatively smoothly except that I didn't do all my homework re the rigging and there are a couple of wires that I had to improvise. And none of the control pushrods are finished as yet. All I did for the photos was pose the Pup against some white cardboard on the bench. Even though my new Panasonic Lumix camera cost about 1/10 of the Canon EOS I have, it takes much better closeups.
Thanks again.
