Been thinking about this one for some time now and I finally have the guts to consider putting together a campaign about the aircraft of the Spanish Civil War.
There were many aircraft that participated from France, Germany, USSR, US and Italy. There is even reference to a Bristol F.2B so there is plenty to chose from.
Thoughts???

Orlando, that's a cool idea. Don't be discouraged by the lack of responses. The air campaigns here are booked up for a year from now already. We're a busy bunch here! Feel free to jump into one already going though, or start your own build blog instead.
thanks for posting!

I'm in! My favourite subject. Potez, hawker, 109s, i16, do-17, etc etc are all lined up in my build queue. Give me an excuse to reduce it.
Great idea.
Tell you what if you get enough response, start an unofficial GB if you can't wait.
I did a mini 5 day build back around christmas with just 5/6 folks, it was a blast.

Ola Orlando,
I'm in to!
There's so many planes i would like to model from this period, that the choice would be difficult !
cheers

I am in as well. I would go for a HS 123 or a Me 109.

Hey, the selection of really interesting aircraft in the Spanish Civil War is gathering interest!
I didn't say it in my earlier post, but count me in!

i'd definitely be interested i joining this one.
probably with the roden heinkel 111 pedro in my stash, i also have in my stash from this conflict, a junkers 87A, Dornier 17, Heinkel 70 and maybe more.
looking forward to this already!
p.s. many moons ago my 109D got the better of jean-luc formery's (call-sign TedMamere) I-16 rata in the first duel build (that is duel as in pistols at dawn, not dual as in a pair!)
despite what he says!

Any chance you can get a rematch with Jean-Luc for this (tentative) campaign?

I love the search functions on Scalehobbyist.com, and I see Airfix has a Henschel Hs123A-1 calling to me! That's an attractive plane-- a biplane dive bomber, and it comes already in Spanish Civil War decals and suggests a cool geometric camouflage pattern. I hope this one goes!

But please try to place the campaign starting time in the middle of the 2012 or later.
Cheers Nick

Well it would be a good excuse to finally buy the the old short-run He 59 from MPM, but I gues my hair would turn gray If I woul actualy try to build it.

It looks like this campaign is not up to me. I want to push it as a campaign and not a GB so lets see what happens!

I've thought about building a 1/48 Ju-52 in Republican markings (at least one Nationalist Ju-52 pilot defected, a decision he probably came to regret, also, I believe a couple of planes were captured when their airfields were overrun before they could get into the air). One nice thing about doing Republican planes is, you don't need any decals, you can just mask off the rudder and wing stripes and paint them on yourself.

I am quite interested in this build, though the start date needs to be late next year. Involved in way too many. Have a few ideas

I'm in, there's more than a few Spanish Civil War types in my stash thanks to my liking of swastika-free German prop jobs.

You can submit your campaign proposal at any time. We (the campaign admins) will then decide on a suitable start date and approve as necessary.

If we could agree on a latter date, I would be interested to join the campaign. There are so many various types of aircraft that I would like to consider, but I am almost sure it will be the "Kanonevogel" (He 112 V6) in a slightly different manner
All the best, and kudos for this brilliant idea!

This is an interesting topic for a campaign, not a topic I know alot about. I wondered of there was a resource about aircraft used in the Spanish Civil War and of course there is. That is not surprising, and I suppose many members here know of it.
What is surprising is just how amazingly interesting and thorough the web site is - I just spent all morning over there, and reading further about that conflict. There is even an annotated compendium of appropriate model kits.
Perhaps David Nash posts here, if so my hat's off to him for a fine job.
I''ll certainly take part if this campaign as long as it is later in the year and perhaps runs in to 2013.
