Looking forward to this, it's an excellent concept for a Campaign, similar in a way to the Chev vs Hemi Group Build that I'm running over on Auto Modeler right now, but with guns !

Cheers, D

Looked into this one Damian but being a Brit it didn't mean much to me I know I like the Challenger and the Mustang Mach 1 (1970) but other than that couldn't tell you anything more. Now if you had said Holden, then that's a different matter as I'm a fan of the V8 supercars series and plan to one day get out to Mount Panorama to cheer on GRM or Ripsel as they are now. Shame no one does a Holden Commadore.

Sorry Michael for

And as we bid a fond farewell to August, an updated list:

Remco/4-BO-Green: La-5/7 vs. Fw 190 with Paul, on AeroScale
Aaron/611_sqd, on AeroScale
Damien/AusieReg: Seafire vs. A6M Zero with Luciano on AeroScale
Bob/Bigrip74
Pat/exer: Panther vs. Sherman, on Armorama
Jim/goldenpony: USN Cruiser vs. IJN Cruiser, on ModelShipwrights
Duncan/Klinker: Sherman Firefly vs. Tiger with Jeremy, on AeroScale
Jessica/Jessie C.: SPAD VII vs. Albatros D.III, on AeroScale
Luciano/Littorio: Seafire vs. A6M Zero with Damien on AeroScale
Paul/ludwig113: Hurricane I vs. Bf 110, on AeroScale
Michael/MichaelSatin: Centurion vs. T-55 (probably), watching all sites
Jan/MrMox: U-Boats vs. Destroyer Escorts on ModelShipwrights
Burak/Panzerace
Paul/ppawlak1: La-7 vs. Fw 190 with Remco, on AeroScale
Simon/RedDuster: E-Boat vs. MTB, on ModelShipwrights
Jesper/SGTJKJ: P-51 vs. Fw 190 with Sean, on AeroScale
Andy/Torchy: Spitfire vs. Bf 109 (he’s doing a 109, looking for a partner), on AeroScale
Jeremy/vonHengest: Sherman Firefly vs. Tiger with Duncan, on Armorama
Phill/WARDUKWNZ: T-34/85 vs. M26 Pershing, on Armorama
Sean/windysean: P-51 vs. Fw 190 with Jesper, on AeroScale

Don’t worry about what I’ve got you listed for here, you’re not tied down at all. We still have 4 months to start and if you change your mind about what you want to build, it’s no problem (though you should, of course, clear it with your partner first if you have one!) Meanwhile Andy on AeroScale is planning a 1/32 Bf 109E-3 and is looking for a Spitfire I or II partner, if you’re interested.

Shaping up well, I’m really looking forward to it. Now I just need to decide what I want to do! At this moment I’m leaning towards the Centurion vs. T-55, Golan 1973. I have the AFV Centurion Sho’t Kal just barely started and the Tamiya T-55 still a blank slate. If, however, I somehow score a Wingnut Wings 1/32 Albatros D.V, my course could change rapidly. Hmm, we’ll see…

If you haven’t signed up yet we'd love to have you, go here!

My original plan which was to do a P-47 and a Bf 109 has all gears engaged. If someone would like to join me fine and dandy, if not that is good as well.

Hey Trevor, since no one seems interested in building a P-40 for that Ki43 vs.P-40 Duel, I might team with you on this one.
Are you thinking the P-47 or the Gustav??

Cheers

Rob,

Welcome! It seems you're looking for someone to build a Sopwith Camel to team up with. I don't believe Osprey has any Duel volumes dealing your other options listed, but the Camel vs. Dr.1 is certainly one of them!

So let's hear it out there, anyone want to do a Camel?

I'll enlist but I'm not sure with what yet. I've only built jets so far so I'll probably go for vintage WWII to shake things up.

Michael,

No problem I'll do the Eduard Fokker Dr 1 Combo as their are 6 decal options for the 2 kits.

Hello
I like the concept and may well join soon. If so, I will do Spad 7 / Alb. DIII, like yourself.
I am also aiming for a low cost, fast build as this is out of my comfort zone. Can I complete an airborn dio in four months, if I only detail what will be seen in shot?

Clive,

We'd love to have you! Complete the kits to whatever level of detail is best for you, no contest here. And the campaign runs for a year, so hopefully that will give you a better time cushion!

Pedro, I will be doing the Bf 109, thus if you will be so kind in building the P-47. Thanks

Well, the first of the year (and the start of our campaign) is 2 ¾ months away, so here’s a bump to see if we can get some more people interested! So far we have 25 members but more are always welcome. Here’s the list of those who have posted what they plan to build so far:

Remco/4-BO-Green: La-5/7 vs. Fw 190 with Paul, on AeroScale
Rob Storey/29Foxtrot: Camel vs. Dr.1 looking for partner on AeroScale
Aaron/611_sqd, on AeroScale
Damien/AusieReg: Seafire vs. A6M Zero with Luciano on AeroScale
Bob/Bigrip74
Pat/exer: Panther vs. Sherman, on Armorama
Jim/goldenpony: USN Cruiser vs. IJN Cruiser, on ModelShipwrights
Duncan/Klinker: Sherman Firefly vs. Tiger with Jeremy, on AeroScale
Jessica/Jessie C.: SPAD VII vs. Albatros D.III, on AeroScale
Luciano/Littorio: Seafire vs. A6M Zero with Damien on AeroScale
Paul/ludwig113: Hurricane I vs. Bf 110, on AeroScale
Michael/MichaelSatin: Centurion vs. T-55 with Sven and SE5a vs. Albatros D.V, watching all sites
Jan/MrMox: U-Boats vs. Destroyer Escorts on ModelShipwrights
Burak/Panzerace
Paul/ppawlak1: La-7 vs. Fw 190 with Remco, on AeroScale
Simon/RedDuster: E-Boat vs. MTB, on ModelShipwrights
Jesper/SGTJKJ: P-51 vs. Fw 190 with Sean, on AeroScale
Sven/Sarjacek: Centurion vs. T-55 with Michael on Armorama
Trevor/Snorri23: P-47 vs. Bf 109G/K, interested in a partner, on AeroScale
Andy/Torchy: Spitfire vs. Bf 109 (he’s doing a 109, looking for a partner), on AeroScale
Alcatraz Logan/vertigo: unknown on Aeroscale
Jeremy/vonHengest: Sherman Firefly vs. Tiger with Duncan, on Armorama
Phill/WARDUKWNZ: T-34/85 vs. M26 Pershing, on Armorama
Sean/windysean: P-51 vs. Fw 190 with Jesper, on AeroScale

Looks like a very interesting spread! Andy has indicated on AeroScale that he’d like to do a Bf 109E and is looking for a partner to do a Spitfire I/II and Rob has a Fokker Dr.1 and would love a buddy with a Sopwith Camel. Also Sven is going to do a Syrian T-55 and needs an Israeli Centurion from 1973 (I’ve volunteered to do this, but if anyone else is into it I’m willing to step aside since I have my own pair I’d like to build too.) Anyone want to jump into any of these? Pedro and Trevor, do you have a deal? If so Pedro needs to enlist.

Thanks all!!

Michael

I'd be happy to do the Spitfire as a partner to Andy but I'd be doing a 1/72nd scale version as opposed to his 1/32nd scale '110'. Would that be a problem?

Logan,

I think we decided that scale differences were OK unless you were doing both models yourself. Also, I think Andy's doing a Battle of Britain 109, not a 110, to go with your Spitfire. So it looks good to me!

Ah, my mistake on the 109.

Anyway, if it's alright with Andy I'll provide the Spitfire. That'll be something different for me.

I've just enlisted in this fine campaign. Some of you already know that I usually build 2 kits for a campaign within 6-7 weeks (at the moment 2 Corsairs for the Sky Pirates Campaign). I'm in with a pair of north african opponents as is shown at Osprey's Duel 38. I will build a Tomahawk (Trumpeter) vs. a Bf 109 E (Tamiya) in 1/48. Not sure when I will start as I've already signed for 2 other campaigns in 2012.

Happy modelling!

Torsten,

Given your dual builds I was hoping we'd see you join up. Welcome aboard! Don't forget, both your Tomahawk and your 109 need to be in N.Africa markings.

Looking forward to your (and everyone's!) builds!

Hi Snorri,

You got yourself a partner!
Now it's just a matter of buying a P-47 D and what else?? Oh, check the onset date for this campaign!

Cheers

I can even give you details what aircraft I will build, Michael. The Tomahawk Mk. II will be of the famous No. 112 Sqn, flown by Plt Off Jack Bartle (RAAF), Egypt, October 1941 and the Bf 109 E-7 is from the not less famous I./JG 27, flown by Oberleutnant (1Lt.) Ludwig Franzisket, Lybia, September 1941. Both guys might even met in reality .....
Actually I planned this dual combo for the Fighter Campaign but it fits better here.

Happy modelling!

Myself and Andy are a go with the Bf 109 and Spitfire duel. I haven't got the book but I assume a Spitefire Mk. 1a in BoB markings would be suitable?

Hi all,

I just joined the campaign. Torsten, I can offer you a Bf 109E-7 from Libya to duel with your Tomahawk if you are not too keen on building both kits yourself.

Otherwise, I'm up for offers. I have a large stash of both aircraft and armor. I'm sure I can turn up something for a duel.

Ooops! Just noticed your posting right now, Emre! Thanks for your offer, but you know me, I love these dual .... errr .... duel combos. And I don't have an african "One-O-Nine" yet. So I will build both standing side by side on expos and the pilots have a beer together (or two, or three ..... )

Happy modelling!
