Nicola! Hope to have mine finished soon too!
Patrik! One of those rare kits that really needs a tutorial! And yes, I did a bit of piping in PlantDesign fifteen years ago, I have sent a pm to you.

In the middle of a zillion decals!
The Twobobs sheet was a huge disappointment with the blue parts of the decals being very dark, almost black. On the contrary, the Hasegawa kit decals looked excellent and went on equally well!

Some more decals and a bit of painting as well! I have no idea why I didn't paint the yellow fin tips and the black area around the canopy while I was at it anyway a few weeks ago. On the other hand, painting halfway through the decalling makes life a bit more exciting, much needed when approaching 40 !
The one place where I used TwoBobs decals: Hasegawa supplies the "VF-2" decals and the stars printed on one big blue-and-yellow decal that is supposed to fit over the ventral fins. I hold Hasegawa in high regards when it comes to sizing decals for their own kits but I still think it is quite hard to make them look painted-on. TwoBobs have done separate text decals so I painted the fins yellow and blue using Xtracrylix RAF trainer yellow and a mix of RLM24 and black, adding the texts afterwards.

Another small step towards completion! Natural metal leading edges have been applied using BareMetal. The whole model has then been matt coated using Gunze flat clear. The white specks are residue from the matt coat, they can be removed using a stiff paintbrush. An added bonus, I don't even get annoyed anymore...
