Why would i spend more money on the tamiya kit?

And keep in mind I plan on loading it down with AM lets face it, it just wouldn't be me if I didn't go nuts.

Plane states P47N-2-RE does this mean block 20?

Tamiya doesn't make a P-47N ( P-47D Razorback and the bubble top) and I don't think Hasagawa does either. Acadamy does.

Revell/Mongram/Promodeler or Academy make P-47Ns. R/M/P is more detailed and accurate and Academy's easier build.

Tamiya makes a P-47M but no N model.

This guy did it from a Tamiya kit. The Tamiya kit fuselage "swells" 2 mm in plan view which he does correct, but the canopy is not very accurate either which he doesn't fix.

The Hasegawa windshield is the best, and the Tamiya bubble closest, but that bubble is too blown.

No P-47 model is quite as sound as the Tamiya 1/48 P-51, thought that has a lousy prop, and the nose cross-section lack much width and "flatness" on top.

This is about P-47 kits, so why would Justin need to know about Mustang kits?

Pro modeller also did a P-47N a few years back as well as the Academy kit previously mentioned.

Hi Justin,
as Troy already mentioned there is no P-47 N from Hasegawa or Tamiya. The only ones I know come from Revell-Monogram (pretty old) and Academy in 1/48. If you decide for the Academy kit you surely can't go wrong. It's really a nice and enjoyable kit, this big Thunderbolt. I've built it a few years ago.

Happy modelling!
Torsten
