Hi all! I'm back!
It has been a while, actually... Well, a lot has appened since my last visit here, but now I am heating up the engine for a great fall-winter building session!
Just to get my mojo fully back, I have decided for a downsize project for the group build. Yes, I know, it is a pity to somewhat waste this opportunity with a not that fancy, little kit, but I promise I'll do something more interesting in the future (by the way, any news from WNW???).
Anyway, this is my entry:
As usual, I started with some preshading...
And that's all for now, I fear... but I have already made some progresses on the kit, so stay tuned for more!
Ciao
Edo
p.s.
I am really glad to be back...

Hi Edo,
Great to hear from you! – I'm a bit infrequent here myself at the moment – lots of things on my plate at the moment, so building is not a high priority.
Your DV is already looking very nice indeed – looking forward to watching it develop.
Best Regards
Mikael

HI Edo:
Welcome back and good to see you hear again. I haven't done any work on my Albatros since April, but will be posting progress soon, (I hope). Looking forward to your work on this little jewel.
Best
Mark

Edo,
Nice to see you back in action...... like others I was growing concerned by your absence.
This kit is indeed a jewel, and I look forward to seeing your approach and progress on it. Welcome back to the "active list" !
Cheers,
Lance

Hi all! and thank you for the warm welcome!
I have some update for you, first some pics of the interior...
Then, some pics of the outside.
I have joined the two halves of the fusolage and painted them white. Then I preshaded them. Lastly, I masked a panel at a time and applayed wood grain using oils.
To tell the truth, I am satisfied with the results: I can still remember well when I thought I would never succeed in obtaining such an effect...
Nevertheless, I think my wood grain is always too much on the dark side...
At first I thougt this could be due to the base coat, so this time I used white, and this is a little better, but maybe, I should also change the top colour mix, which are: ocra yellow, light brown (don't now which as it is a very old oil paint in an unmarked jar), and a very light teasing with red ocre; all then sealed with Tamya clear yellow.
What do you think?
Well, this is all for now!
ciao
Edo

Hi all!
here are some pics of my finished model!
It has been a quick build, but I feel my mojo coming gradually back!
Now, what I have to do is to lower my stack in order to make room for the upcoming Xmas sale!!
This is all for now!
Hope you enjoy!
ciao

Edo,
I really am impressed with the effect your fuselage pre-shading highlights the panel seams on the wood finish; I'm definitely going to try it. Nice to see you back in action, keep feeding that Mojo!
Nice work!
Cheers,
Lance
