Hello Mark:

This is really a neat looking aircraft. It really turned out nice, very striking scheme.

Hope you have a great Christmas and a great New Year.

Good work Mark! I really enjoy the muted difference of the wings as compared to the effect of the fuselage colours! It notes the differences in the paint / wing dope very well.

Also here is the kit review on Aeroscale Model On!

It seems that one of the Aurora re-issues (K&B) did a similar scheme of red and black. I'll see if I can hunt it down.

Great model, the wood finish looks nice, and the color and texture give a nice visual effect.

Merry Christmas.

Does anyone know if the markings for the box art of the K&B release of the Halberstadt are representative of a real a/c or just notional?

In the old WWI in Plastic compendium Brad K. Hansen was discussing this issue. It may have been in one of the subsequent updates he would put out. It seems that the folks at Aurora were hashing out a "new scheme" for the K&B (Canadian subsidiery)label.

When it came to this mold one of their source said he had read somewhere that this scheme was decribed in text. Though they were partially right I would venture to say some of it was guess work. If I can find it I'll quote it verbatum.
