Mark,
Thanks for posting those beautiful Golden Age projects.Great to see such well done classic kits being built. A GA GB does sound very inviting too.
Highest Regards,

Cheating only slightly by crowding the edge of the date envelope, the Lockheed Electra Model 10 first flew in 1934. (although this particular one was from 1936)

Your not really cheating at all if it flew in 1934 .The only thing wrong is that it is in a 1936 identity. The way I read it, it is ok if it flew before 1935.The thread says "thru 1934" which means it includes all of 1934.

Hi All
I have the CMR resin Howard Hughes 1B kit(Chritsmas Present from my son).
Version A - 1935
Version B - 1937
Great looking aircraft(not a gun insight) but sad to say out of the GB time line.
I would make the GB for any Aircraft 1800-1939

Yeah, that is the problem with cut off dates but if it were otherwise we would be swamped with WW2 stuff.

Hello Lance;

I have one more at the house. I need to make some field expedient repairs before I take a picture. These are about 20 years old as well. I had antenas on them and other wiring, but ham fisted people and little ones caused them to go, so I left them off. These were taken where I work, I had them hanging from the cieling in my office; but I am bringing them home and will make repairs.

Best

Not to worry Mark ,radios were not all that common back then.In fact I remember back in the 1950's when I started to fly the airport tower at Cartierville(CTVL) airport was still using red and green lights and flares for control. This airport at the time was only a couple of miles off the end of the main runway 24 at Dorval(now Trudeau) airport and still we operated the old fashioned way in this congested environment.Times sure have changed all right.

Hello John:

Those radios were pretty big, bulky and heavy as well. I imagine that the red and green lights and flairs all seemed to be normal operations at the time.

Thanks

Please note :all the pictures that I put up here of old aircraft are 75 years or older and in the public domain.Out of courtesy, whenever possible ,I try to get permission from the current holders of these images.Currently anything before 1937 is OK which works out perfectly for this threads cut off date of "thru 1934".

Mike,
It caught my eye "big time" as well. (Thanks John for posting it and the other Golden Age subjects) I took a look at your Gallery Photos and your P-26 is a beauty as well; always been fascinated with the little beast!
How about considering Enlisting for KoTS II with a between the wars subject? As stated many times over the past several weeks it's a topic much ignored with lots of subjects now available. I'm a WW1 nut however seeing the excellent builds of 20's and 30's subjects here have me thinking that an after the war topic or two would be a refreshing change and great experience.
If you think I'm recruiting, you're right. We have less then 3 days to go to the enlistment deadline and are one short of the required minimum. If you havn't done a Campaign before don't be intimidated, it's anything but a contest. I started here on Aeroscale with a KoTS I entry and the motivation, confidence, and enjoyment it brought to my version of the hobby, to say nothing of the enormous learning experienced was phenomenal.
Over to you Sir, try it, I know you'll like it!

Cheers,
Lance

Hello Mike: If you are a referring to my Pea Shooter, it is 1/32nd scale, using the kit decals provided in the Minicraft release of the Hasegawa P-26. They turn up on ebay from time to time. It is a fun build and a neat airplane. Love those landing coverings, the 'wheel pants' and that big radial engine up front. Very racy and art deco.
I will concur with Lance on all points. Sign up for the group build. Since I came on Aeroscale my modeling skills, interest and knowledge have increased exponentially, not to mention the great people that inhabit this site. Take the plunge.

Hi Jessie. Is that the dreaded Special Hobby 1/72? I tried a few years back to build that one..ended up in the ciruclar trash bin....Did not like the shape, the fit was awful!

Sorry, should have been more clear. KoTS 11, "Knights of The Sky" Group Build Second Version. You'll find the thread and Rules etc right at the top of this page (1) under the title "The Next Early Aviation Group Build-Proposal." If you go to "Campaigns you can find all the threads etc for the first one which went 1 Jan to 31 Dec last year.

Cheers,
Lance
