It seems that my Google-fu has failed me today. Can I have your opinions on the best match for that wonderful blue the USAAC painted some of their fuselages in during the "yellow wings" era?
Humbrol, Model Master or Tamiya colours are the most widely available hereabouts. Is there anything close, or would I have to brew up a custom mix?

Jessie, My bookmarks aren't paying off big time to night. Cyber modeler has QM3-1, but it's not clear which blue is right. CM also has a set of photos of a restored P-26 with a light (baby?) blue fuselage. IPMS Stockholm's color charts aren't a lot of help either, http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/colorcharts/stuff_eng_colorcharts_us.htm the only pre war blue looks kinda dark.
Good luck

Greetings Ms. Jessica,
If you go to the Funster thread you will see an old Revell kit I did called "The blue Carbuncle". I used Testors "French Blue" and flatted the dog out of it. It comes as a gloss if memory serves. I remember at the time I was amazed at how close it was to the USAAC between the wars blue.

I used Polly Scale's "USMC Blue" when I built my Pavla Kaydet .

Yep. Pollyscale USAAC blue is the best, but it could be hard to find.
An alternative is Tamiya 75% royal blue and 25% flat white.
my 1/48 p-26a peashooter in 1/48.

Here's CyberModeler's P-26 Walk Around P-26
Gotta say they look close, given internet color distortions.

According to a Pollyscale paint list I have, USAAC Blue is a near match to FS 15102. Hope this helps!
