I heard rumor that Accurate Miniatures has closed down. Is this true? I know they are one of the best ac manufacturers around. If they have closed, I'll run down to my LHS and buy them out.

I wouldn't like to say for certain but reading this shows that they've not had the best of luck

Only through the diligent work and patience of the small staff was Accurate Miniatures able to be resurrected to become a successful company that is praised by model builders for their high-quality kits and attention to detail.

This is the last line. I'm not sure what kits Italeri picked up. It would seem that Accurate Miniatures may have some financial troubles, but are sorting it out.

That article (if it can be believed) says that Italeri picked up the following molds Avenger, Dauntless, Grumman F3F, Mustang, Stormovik, and Yak kits

I do know for certain that Italeri have reboxed the IL-2 and the B-25 as I have them in the stash.

Hi there

As far as I'm aware, MRC took over marketing Accurate Miniatures kits a little while ago. Hopefully, the full range will be available again at some point:

Italeri also reboxed AM's Dauntless and Avenger - I have both in my stash. Though they are not easy to get. I don't know anything about F3F, Mustang and Yak in Italeri boxes ....

Hi again

No - Italeri didn't re-box those AM kits. Eduard re-released the Yak in a couple of versions (as well as their own boxing of the Il-2).

All the best

Last time I checked, my LHS had four kits by AM. Pretty good prices at $25 per kit. I have seen that, even though AM failed to pay the debt to them, the Mitchell is currently available as the AM boxing and the Italeri boxing.
