For those of you that may not be sure what to build up, I found a US Navy WWII Grumman TBF Avenger on eBay. This one does not come up often and the price is exceptional. If I didn't have one, I'd snatch it up:

Hi all
got my pc back from the menders so I can now post some pics
my little eggs done..
Like frazer said the fuslage was in three parts with the join lines running in two directions
but these soon disappeared with a bit of light sanding
Hope you like

Very nice work , It looks as 'smooth as an egg'. I can only hope mine turns out half as good.

Very nice Andy; turned out great. I'm more a prop-egger vs the jets, but....that'll change.

Im calling this one finished Has been a change of pace doing this just wish the decals would have conformed easier rather than having to resort to some rather strong setting solution oh well had fun with this one

And just so you know I'm still going strong here:
Most of the paint is done:
Decal on the console. Also, the dowels to represent the missles:
One more:
I have some cleaning and clean up on the "canopy" to do, and I need to wire the search light underneath. The light came from a Maquette T-34 (1-35th scale) with an MV lense.

I'm jumping into this campaign now.
I had a bad start with styrofoam craft eggs, but couldn't get them as smooth as I wanted. New start with standard plastic Easter eggs...
The kids each get a Boeing 747 to paint. (I don't trust them yet with CA superglue-- which works much better than tacky craft glue holding wood to soft plastic, I've discovered on this project-- and I certainly won't let them cut the wood with an X-acto knife.)
I'm secretly doing these as practice for my own glorious creation-- ha ha ha ha. Okay, we'll see if there's anything left in the tank after I complete the Jumbo Jets.
Mine won't have the detail of the kit egg planes, although, I really love all the work that's been going on here ahead of mine. Excellent group of modelers here!!
Mike, that helicopter is especially nice-- little details and stripey camouflage.
cheers,
Sean H.

Very cool Sean. Easter Egg eggs seem like a pretty good basis. Hmmmm....remember L'eggs?
Also, do I spy a B-17?

Mike, yes, that was my very first sketch. I think one was shown at the very beginning of this thread, and it really caught my eye. I'm shooting for a big biplane like the one on the Finescale table of contents in that picture.

Scott,
PM with the list. I have a lot...but always looking for more (especially if I don't have 'em!).
Sean,
My most favorite plane in the world; the B-17G. My second most favorite? The B-17G.

TFG-- an excellent, clean build! Are decals coming, or does it remain a mystery ship? Anyway, well done!
thanks for posting.

Sean,
The decals that came with it are....uh, lacking. Not sure that I want to add anything more to it...
And, thank you for the compliments.
I should mention the base is NOT done. I'm still contemplating how I'm going to finish that. Probably some heavily diluted acrylics in the globe and something different, color wise (jet black?) for the base.

Hello to everyone, realy nice work around here.
i've been away from the modelling during about 3 years, and im trying to comeback, so i decided that an easy build would be perfect for a start.
here the progress so far in my egg f-16
best regards.
