Hi all,
Are there any model-related sights to be seen in south-west Florida ?
I'm going to Fort Myers Beach for three weeks in October :-).
I have searched the web, but didn't even find a model-store in the area !
I did however, find the "Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum" which among other cool post-war jets, have a F-14 Tomcat. Can't wait to see the cat in person so to speak ...
So if anyone has information about model-related shows, museums or stores, please let me know !

I don't know the area in the south well. I live near Orlando and there's not much for modellers here. Valiant Air Command museum is in Titusville and is a good but small museum. They do have quite a few models on display there and a small stock in their shop.
If you are going to drive from Fort Myers to Titusville you should also see Fantasy of Flight. Here's a link:

Hi David,
Thanks for the tip !
Yes, we are driving to the eastcoast and staying there a couple of days, so FantasyOfFlight will be right on the route.
Best regards
Jesper

Does anybody know any model-hobby stores in the area ?

No model shops, but if you are going to Fantasy of Flight call in at Winter Haven airport, main terminal, Tim Preston runs a Stearman there and for a reasonable sum of dollars you can fly in it. Alternatively, the restaurant does some of the best burgers I've had anywhere. I'm going in November and will fly a Piper Cub on floats at Jack Brown's Seaplane Base and scoff another of the excellent burgers. Aircraft are meant to be flown and Fantasy of Flight have something aloft most days and the restoration shop is well worth a serious look

I'll do that if I can Tim's Stearman was operated from the main terminal. There was a flight school on the other side of the field that had a Stearman as well.
