With the coming release of T-28D in 1/48 by Roden a Campaign proposal for paying homage to all the little warriors flying day and night close to the ground and enemy fire looks appropriate, don't you think?
Some basic rules:
Scale: any scale is appropriate;
Period: from 1935 to modern times;
Subject: Any counter insurgency a/c, forward air controller, artillery correction a/c is allowed.
If it's original role is other than the above mentioned the subject must be presented as a part of COIN/FAC detachment. For example - F-100F in Misty FAC role, AD-5 (A-1E)/A-1H/J in Special operations colors etc., B-26K, I think you get the idea.

Any comments and proposals for a starting date, rule improvements, etc. are more than welcomed.

I like the idea but I already built my Fiat Cr42AS. This could cover a huge range of aircraft from a Lysander to Puff the Magic Dragon C-47. Ground attack started way before 1935, the Hannover CLIII or Sopwith Salamander were used in WW1 and the Bristol Fighter was used in counter insurgency work in Palestine and Iraq up to 1931. Run this and I would love to join in with an Il-2 Stormovich, I don't have one, but I'll start looking, providing it doesn't start till about next April, too many campaigns running till then. Alternatively I do have a 1/48 Eduard Bristol Fighter if you allow pre 1935.

I'm guessing that FAC would include the OV-10 and the O-2. How about the F-100F Fast FAC?

May be A Ground Attack campaign?
Everything with ground attack ordnance?

If 4 20lb Cooper bombs and a Vickers gun counts sure. I don't remember a ground attack campaign, but there are some seriously interesting aircraft in this role. Il-2, Hs129, Fw189, Ju87, Ju88, Typhoon, P-47, Skyraider, Intruder, Salamander, Cr42AS, Hurricane, Pucara, A-10, Harrier, Apache, Cobra, Lynx, Bell 47, UH-1. That is just off the top of my head. Maybe COIN, Close support and Anti-tank should cover it.
