The primer could almost serve as the final finish colour.
Well, on top anyway. I'd have to find something lighter for underneath.

Great campaign all of you. I especially like the Orion's. I remember seeing them flying over Virginia Beach when I was a teen.

As far as orange stripes go, Johnathan, that's about the finest orange stripe I've ever seen!
The rest of the model looks really cool and well done, too!
I should like to have joined in this campaign, as I said at its beginning. Too bad I swamped myself with others; now its just too late.

finished
This is somewhat fictional, the Anigrand model represents a PV, later styled PV-1, whereas the aircraft which wore these markings (actually is preserved and still flying, nice picture here) is a slightly different PV-2. This is the only PV model of any description available in 1/144, so disbelief must be suspended for a bit.
VP-ML-57, with tail code FP, was stationed at NAS Oakland and had at least six PV-2s between 1946 and 1950.
The Anigrand kit was trouble free. the Decals are various odds and ends from my collection, mostly YKraft. The paint is Polyscale acrylic finished with Testors Clearcoat.

Another finisher! I'd better get busy and finish my Aurora or else I'll have flaked out on my own campaign!

I bailed out a long time ago - at stage most of my stalled builds stall at: PSR. I just couldn't face getting my Orion seams good enough for a gloss white finish

At some point you have to accept your limitations and move on.
Nothing I make will ever be in the model-of-the-month class, but by gum they get finished.

More progress
I have to take a little break before I go cross-eyed from putting on the propeller tip warning stripes. 16 at a time is bad enough.

yes, lovely! the L-188/P-3 family are certainly pleasing to the eye.
Maybe down the road, after we've done the Douglas and DeHavilland campaigns, we'll see if a Lockheed campaign can be got off the ground.

Yes, everything from Amelia Earhart's L-10 Electra, to the C-5A Galaxy, and plenty of popular combat types of course.
I'd like to do an L-188. I have a Welsh kit and a ATP Northwest Orient early 60s red tail decal.

Good morning all. I've awarded the ribbons. Let me know if I've missed you. I'll leave the thread open "unofficially" so if you're close to finishing you can still get your ribbon, don't give up yet. If you're not so close to finishing, there's still the Hangar Queen campaign
Congratulations to our finishers thus far.
