Hi folks,
Here is my latest build; the 1/48 Eduard Nieuport 17 (profipack boxing), built out of the box as a quick and relaxing build, as I hadn’t finished anything in a while. This was the first time that I had rigged a biplane using the “monofilament, turnbuckles and sleeves” method (I usually rig my biplanes with elastic), but this one turned out ok for a first try.
I chose to paint the model in the markings of N2779 of Escadrille N.112, flown by Sois Lieutenant Carre, April 1917. This aircraft was forced down near Leffincourt and captured by the Germans. The markings came from the AeroMaster sheet 48-504 "Silver Hawks - Nieuport 17 Fighters 1916-1917 Pt 1”. The kit was a real breeze to build, which is probably why it has been a staple re-release for Eduard for so long. Anyways, some pics:
Some fun:
And a quick couple of shots of the interior:
It feels good to get something built Any feedback is welcomed!
Thanks,
BC

One of my favorite Brad! After its capture it killed the German pilot that brought it down.

Hi Brad:
This really turned out nice. I like the black and white photo, really looks like the real deal. Glad to see you back modeling too.
Best
Mark

Thanks for the nice words folks! Stephen - great link and a great build! I didn't know the history of this aircraft after the Germans got hold of it. Most interesting, and unfortunate.
Thanks again!

Beautiful build Sir. The rigging looks great too. How unlucky was that German pilot, killed in the same aircraft he forced down!
