AMT/ERTL filled a void in large Cold War aircraft with 1/72 B-52s, KC-135s, and then USAF flying wing prototypes. They didn''t stop and kitted the amazing XB-70 Valkyrie. The XB-70 is an sight to behold in real life or as a model.

Nice review of an unusual subject. That is a big aircraft and likewise a big model, even in 1/72.

Pfff, a 82cm long model, amazing. A very nice build. How did you painted this? Just spraying with airbrush?

Bonjour Olivier,

A top-notch model! Thank you for linking to it.

What's the story of the A6M2 reisen lurking behind the camera tripod?

All my best,

Fred

Need to get one for the stash, I used to work with a guy that was an engineer working on the landing gear years ago.

Good review!

I have one of these, unfinished and leaning up against the wall in my hobby room. My plan was to build it as a "what if", but it has warped wings, which I didn't notice until I'd glued them together. And the fuselage to wing seam has been a bear to fill, even after using spacers to reduce the gap. It's probably better to get a new copy rather than an old one as I did.
